Default Signed Joke Dragon Card

Here is a little treat to keep you smiling while I am busy with my Jury Duty!!!!

I found this offered as a signed bookmark inside a lovely 1st edition copy of "Decission at Doona" the book alone was well worth the price as it was like new. I had a signed copy of the book already but just couldn't resist the discripion of the signed bookmark. When it came I was very pleasantly surprised at what it turned out to be and promtly framed and hung it on the wall along with some of my other Anne signed treasures. I hope that you enjoy it...and that it will give you as much of a chuckle as it did for me.

See you when I get back.... .....Maelin

Oh Maelin, that is wonderful (btw, I'm sure it's genuine).

You must have realised that it is the picture that was used for the chapbook "The Smallest Dragonboy" that Anne published privately for her guest of honour appearance at Scouse Con 1 held in Liverpool in 1982. Only 200 were made (it'll be one of my future Collecting Highlights)

However, your signed card is as much as five years older!

The drawing/cover illustration is by Linda Albritten and Anne must have liked it so much that she chose to use it for one of her favourite stories!

Thank you very much for posting this!

Here's a pic of the SDB cover:

Hans,This is such a wonderful surprise to read your story about my Dragon bookmark/joke card...I had no idea what it was use for or where it came from. All I knew was that when it came I was very happily surprised and just loved having it. Knowing the history behind it sure makes the finding of it much more special to me. I will be looking forward to your highlight and the more detailed story about it and the chap book that it was originally put on. I just love that Anne like it so much too!!! Thank You, Thank You,...........

Maelin, sounds like you bought one treasure and ended up receiving two! What a wonderful surprise for you, and definitely worth framing!

I know I've seen the comic before, I think on something I own -- probably a fanzine but perhaps an official magazine like Locus. Guess I'll have to do a search for it sometime.

ETA: And it is quite chuckle-worthy!

Cheryl, I would be very interested in finding out if it is in another publication. It seems my little bookmark/joke card has got a few more surprises in its bag for me to find.
