Challenge!

So, I asked above if posting challenges to all you fan fiction writers was kosher, and apparently it is. And I've been waiting a while for a good idea for a challenge.

I found one in a bookstore today.

My first Pern Fanfiction Challenge to you:

Write something, from the point of view of a canon Harper, where Harpers are more powerful than kings, and can literally control people's minds with their music.

Hahahaha.

And, because I love Anne McCaffrey's other worlds so much (guess which one in particular ) I have a non-Pern challenge, if any of you are up to writing non-Pern fic:

Write about one of Damia's liasons with the utterly hot and utterly un-Talented Aurigaen engineers or miners, from the perspective of either Damia, or one of her temporary boy-toys. (Speaking of the Talent universe, here, particularly the book Damia.)

Post your results in this forum as separate threads with the appropriate prefix and tags. How about we give everyone a month to create their fic (so, deadline is July 24th, 2008), and then we vote on the best one? I have no prizes, but the winner will at least get crowing rights!
