Default new portrait in PMA Pern Portrait Series

The much revered resident PMA artist Linda Eicher has delivered her latest astounding creation in the Pern Portrait Series: Tarvi Andiyar, later known as Tarvi Telgar. You might remember his partner Sallah Telgar being the first portrait in this series some months ago. Well, Sallah is not alone anymore, her beloved Tarvi has joined her! On special request Linda also pictured two other early Pern characters in the background (which pictures working on the Fort caves itself): Cobber Alhinwa and Ozzie Munson, the last of which helped Tarvi founding Telgar Hold and settled there. The new portrait with the, by now established "storytelling background scene", is the fourth in the series Linda Eicher made for the Pern Museum & Archives.

Please go to the Pern Museum & Archives and click on the portrait to see the full painting in the encyclopedia (from where you can access an even larger version).

Ladies, isn't he gorgeous?

Good eye, R2005, as I think he was the original model. Maelin did a lovely job aging him, as Tarvi's no spring chicken anymore.

@*R*, Yes that was who I used in the start...Cheryl found him and sent a link to me. He is a very beautiful young man...but I had to age him up a lot to look his vigorous 60 years old.

@Kath and Shalyn...I know I didn't get him thin enough...but that was very hard to do and keep him as handsome as Sallah suggested he was...so I sort of compromised.

@Sammy... Old ...he isn't old...just very pleasantly matured...

Thank you all so much for the very lovely compliments on *Tarvi*.
I am glad that all you ladies are enjoying him so much...I can really say that it was indeed a very enjoyable experience working on him...it perhaps took me a few days longer with his portrait, because I wanted to keep him on my easel longer ...it was great looking at him while I work.

The picture is really nice.

You misunderstand - I picture him in my mind as looking like Luka from ER.

Yes, the picture looks loke Mohinder, which, as Cheryl and Lin have said, was the original model.

And Maelin - I just wanted to say - yes, very beautiful portrait. I didn't mean to sound critical (in case you took it that way).

*sighs dreamily* Oh, yeah, I'd "do" him.

Lara, I'm sorry that you didn't see any of Tarvi, in my drawing. Hopefully you'll enjoy the next character portrait. I do try very hard to follow the books discription as close as I can...but still each of us develop our own ideas of what each of the characters look like, so it's no surprise that some won't agree with my vision of them.
