Sadly, none of my science is quite so photogenic as these!

[I do have one of the first calibrated spectra from a brand new instrument (LUCIFER, on the LBT) being worked on right now, but [a] I really shouldn't publish it here first, and [b] it still looks quite ratty. Still a lot of skyline residuals messing things up. But watch this space - give me another few days and I'll be using it to 'weigh' the central black hole inside a redshift 1.67 quasar...]

A really good set of images. I see Saturn's rings are starting to become visible again. I like the Camel's Eye Nebula. It's amazingly blue. Are these visible light images taken with three colour filters? The blue filter must have been a good match to the Camel's Eye.

And there was me thinking the correct order was:
  • Publish the results on MOM
  • Submit a preprint to arXiv
  • Submit a paper to a peer reviewed journal

The Imaging Sequence is Luminamce then Red,Green Blue....


And there was me thinking the correct order was:
Peer review on MOM
Submit a preprint to arXiv
Submit a paper to a peer reviewed journal .......

Ok Time for my cuppa and then off to start the stew....
