Default Break up the WinW

Have rules as one lock thread.
There have WinW Puzzler/Winner on a diffent thread.
Then have Sign Up on a differnt thread.
Within the WinW section.
Thanks

The listing is getting too long.
Also you could loss some who don't know there way around the site, I know I have a few times with my note linked to the 1 post. Sorry about the "steam" on this post. It has been a zanny day.

I know it well be more work for the staff here at MoM but I think it could be worth it in the long run.

I'm afraid I disagree. Having the rules and the listing in the very first post on the thread is the most obvious place to put them. If someone can get lost in a single post, I'm not convinced that multiple threads would be any easier for them, certainly not if they already know that the information is all in the first post. And for new site members who don't know how it works, multiple posts would be needlessly complicated.

Ginny, if you're having trouble finding the information, why not just make a bookmark to that first post, like this: http://forums.srellim.org/showpost.p...31&postcount=1

[If you click on the #1 in the top right corner of an individual post, you can view just that post rather than the whole thread - that might be less confusing for you when you're checking the information.]

I disagree too. It stays the way it is.

The only thing I might consider is revering the order of the waiting list, so that the newst (read: highest number) is on top instead of down the list. That might save some scrolling.

That's very odd. It shouldn't happen.

I would agree that breaking up that post just makes the forum more cluttered and less clear. Perhaps the first post itself needs a bit a rewriting to make it more clear to new members, but there is no need to split the rules from the list of upcoming puzzle posters (and we do not track who the winners are, as that's not the point of the game).

I don't think it would be fair to all the "oldbies" to change it up in that way. Any time you join a new forum it takes a little while to adjust to its 'culture.' This is a very friendly place and anytime you get confused by something, all you have to do is ask. Most people here will be glad to help any way we can.

It takes awhile to get used to the system but you only have to ask and someone will help. I've found that point very useful. Especially as there's always new things to learn and there's always someone who's had a go at it and worked it out eventually.

I have edited the rules/signup post, making minor changes that should make things clearer.

When we reach puzzle #200, we'll start a new sign-up thread.

Thanks Cheryl, for changes the Post #1 on the WinW. Its is much better for reading it. A person can see when they are up. and who got the puzzle. sorry about the wording of my idea, at the time it was the only way I could thing of saying it.

I hope to do better at wording these ideas.

Part of an idea/suggestion is always the reason why you thing something ought to be done, and expressing that is very important. While a specific suggestion may not be workable, the underlying problem can sometimes be addressed in a different manner, as was done so for this issue.

I'm glad it's clearer for you now!
