I'm not sure I follow... are you saying you have trouble remembering different passwords for different sites?

Doesn't your compy bring up a "remember password on this machine" box when you log on?
An alternative is to have different "roles" for each site; but just one really cryptic password for them all.

It helps to construct a password that isn't too hard to remember. Take a word or short phrase that has particular meaning to you. Now change a few of the letters to symbols that correspond well to them (! for i, @ for a, etc). Now you have a complex password that's not too hard to remember.

Or something that only you associate with the site or with your sn. That's what I tend to do when I don't rely on the remember password box.

I've used physical constants for uni passwords in the past until the system got wise to me this year, they were supposed to be random.
I don't have trouble with remembering things though. |

I no this may be an odd one but, I dislike saying this my memory blank out from try to keep track of differnt pass code and sites.
![]() I think some like Forum 1o1 FAQ would be good idea. For any new or some rusty user. Any one who would like to shepard a new member on trying to pick a Good ID-code I just use an Idea from one of Anne's Book to help jog my memory. No disrepet to her and her world.

This site does have a FAQ which helps teach those who are new to forums how things work.
As for remembering passwords, in addition to the advice given above, I suggest that you create one very basic password for use on all sites you have a membership at where top-level security isn't an issue. There's no need for a unique password for here, fanfiction.net, other forums you belong to, etc. Where you need unique, secure passwords are banking sites or anywhere else money is involved. Also, for this forum, if you are logging on from the same computer all the time, and one that is not shared with anyone else that visits this site, then you should tick the "remember me" box when you log in. This will keep you logged in via a cookie so that you do not need to enter your password every time you visit. Having an older member "shepherd" a new member as to the creation of a password is a royally bad idea. Your password should be secure from other members of the forum. You need to come up with it on your own, however difficult that may be for you. (Besides the fact that by the time you would join and ask for help, you've already had to create a password on your own.)

Of course if you're desperate enough you can write down your passwords and then hide the list somewhere no one else can find it.

Verbally record your passwords on your i-pod/MP3.
![]() Then you can play them back when you need to. ![]()

Or better yety for Ginny, a BrailleNote once you're sure your Braille skills are good enough to write some simple words.

![]() I think that is good. I do have a Brialle slate/stylus thank to my other have he is trying to learn it to read the dots with you eye, he can see but his writting is like my hit and miss. Also a braille slate/stylus is a person who has little or no sight take notes. It is like pen/ink/paper etc. to some who can see. You have to write the word backwards so read it come out right. Or use a braillewriter a typewriter like machine that put Braille on paper or other media. A BrailleNote is a good idea but they all cost money. I hope to get one ASAP when I have the money
