Default CIA spam/virus/phishing

Wow, some spammer/phisher actually thinks I'm dumb enough to fall for a message like this:

Quote:
Dear Sir/Madam,

we have logged your IP-address on more than 27 illegal Websites.

Important:
Please answer our questions!
The list of questions are attached.

Yours faithfully,
Steven Allison

++++ Central Intelligence Agency -CIA-
++++ Office of Public Affairs
++++ Washington, D.C. 20505

++++ phone: (703) 415-1017
++++ 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., US Eastern time
Here are my questions:
How is a website illegal? What you do or view there may be, but the site itself?
Why is this the purview of the CIA and not the FBI?
How did they connect my IP address to my email address?
Why are they handing something like this via email and not in person?

Good thing I'm not that stupid and will simply nuke the attached ZIP file instead of opening it and seeing what sort of virus/spyware might be inside.

That kind of thing - if I ever get it - usually winds up in my Junk Mail Folder and winds up getting Deleted.

If you weren't lets say the fastest browser on the web you might, mainly due to the fear factor. Someone emails you threatening you with who knows what...

I'd like to know how I manage to win the lotto without ever participating in one. Really, the spammers must really think everyone else is as dumb as they are, using the same old thing a hundred different ways...

Hi, Lady Maelin, a belated welcome from me too

The best advice while you're new to the internet is, if you don't recognise the e-mail address, don't open the message If a message has an attachment and you're not expecting an e-mail with an attachment, be doubly careful not to open it If all else fails, ask the family - but warn them first that you'll kill them if they make the wrong decision

It would be amusing for me to get one, since I'm no American citizen.

Unlikely, as I proudly wear my .au to my email address.
