Default Hybrid vs Non-Hybrid

Just wondering if you drive a hybrid or not and why. My husband and I have 2 Toyota Prius (a 2001 and a 2004) and a Hybrid Hilander (a 2006). We love them all and we like the savings on gas even though they don't get quite the millege advertized they do get better then other cars we might own.

I Dont Know Anything About Those Kind Of Cars ........i Watched A Blurp On The New.....but I Am From California And We Drive Every Where...and I Love My Comfort....so The Car For Me And My Husband Is A Lincoln Town Car.....i Will Worry About The Gas In My Next Life Or When They Run Out......although The Car I Drive Is A Little Better In Gas Than The Lincoln.....its A Kia Amanti.....but Comfort Again Not For Gas......i Love How It Looks......and Those Hybrids Are Ugly To Me.....but They Do Make Sence.....and Probaly Soon We Will All Be Driving One......maybe One Run On Hydrogen.......the Million Dollar Car That They Are Trying Out.

We don't have a hybrid at the moment. I would like very much to drive one, both to save on gas money and reduce pollution, but it's going to be awhile before I can afford to buy any car, much less a really expensive one!

I sat in a new one the other day ...WOW!! I don't know if it was the smell of a
new car,,,and the idea of saving on Petrol...very temped to buy one ,
very pricy, and long waiting list ,as alot go to America,,haven't seen
seen the Honda one!,but the story goes ,you have to spend money to save
And then what would my BoyBlue ,think if I traded him in for this
Zoom car,,I know he is old petrol, blows smoke at times, ,but
he was made in 1947,and he is still a classy looking MG

Given the additional cost on the purchase price, it actually takes about seven years for hybrids to earn back in gas savings what they cost above comparable standard-engine vehicles. (You see some gas savings, but you paid more initially, so you have a net loss for seven years, to put it simply.) So I wouldn't buy one to save money. I might consider the Explorer hybrid, if/when I need to replace my Mercury Mystique, just for the reduced emissions, but right now, if and when I need a new car, I'm more likely to go for the Ford Freestyle, which is more a station wagon, for the cargo capacity on a car chassis. I wouldn't consider the others until their tow rating improves, as they have even less cargo space than my current car. (Non-Ford companies aren't an option anyway, as I get Z plan pricing because my father is retired from Ford. Meaning I can get Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Mazda, Land Rover, and Jaguar at 2% below dealer cost, roughly. Not that it would make a huge price difference with those last two! Aston-Martins aren't covered by Z plan, but it's not like 2% below $250,000 would be a big help anyway!)
