Default Hi

I've haven't been to a McCaffery forum since some forum for some computer game back in the 2000ish (jeeze that seems like a lifetime ago, not 5 years) where I had the name Trekkie. I just registered here on a whim. I've read a whole bunch of DROP books and enjoyed them. It seemed like a fun thing to do to join a MaCaffery board again.

One more thing:

When I said I joined here on a whim, it was a BIG whim. I don't think I've actually touched anything Anne has written since 2000, and I only read about have the DROP series and nothing else by her. I meant to finish the series, I really did and I still do. Then I got into Asimov (three years of my life there ), then Dune, then some other stuff, and now Orsan Scott's Card's Bean and Endor series which I have only read about half of so far, However, I still have fond memories of reading those books back in middle school (I'm in college now).

Well then, if you originally joined the pre Worlds of Anne McCaffrey / Kitchen Table forum board that was setup by Alliance Atlantis, back when we still expected Pern to be on TV soon...

I'd better say: welcome back

Happy posting Gedca, enjoy yourself

There's actually quite a few. There are three sequels (the ! are the ones I've read):
Speaker for the Dead!
Xenocide
Children of the Mind

There is also a companion novel written about Bean (a relatively minor character in Ender's Game who is far more interesting than is shown in Ender's Game) with 3 sequels of it's own:
Endor's Shadow!
Shadow of the Hegemon!
Shadow Puppets!
Shadow of the Giant

There is also a short story collection entitled First Meetings.

Card is still alive so there should be more books in the series as time goes by.

There is also a movie planned for Ender's Game that is schedualed for 2007 (although that is pushed back from the orgional 2001 to 2003 to 2005 to the current panned date, so who knows when it's coming out).

I hope that you like poemlets,
cause here's one just for you.
It isn't very wise or long,
as five lines will have to do:
and a final g'day too!

Sure why not?
Soooo first question..... how DOES one pronounce your name Gedca?
I pronounce ged (as in the name Ed with G as in get) ca (C as in cat and A as in cat).

Of course since it's not a real word you can pronounce it however you want. I just typed it in at random once when a message baord asked for a name and I rather like the way it looks and sounds.
