I was just thinking about the cover art on the CS books and wondered what others thought of them. Do you have a favorite? Do you have one that makes you cringe?

For reference, Cover Art

Personally, I love the art that the Italian Il Canto del Cristalli came from, which is Michael Whelan's "Passage: Verge" which of course, due to frames on his site I'm having issues getting a nice clean link to.

I'm amused by the Killashandra covers of her in her polly island outfit. I threatened to make a costume of it at one point, but decided I'd need too much gym time to pull it off

Here's a link to Whelan's "Passage: Verge"
I like that picture, though not as a CS cover as it seems wholly unrelated.

My favorite would be Whelan's cover of Crystal Singer, where Killa looks at least a little gungy and wholly in thrall. I think it captures the essense of crystal singing fairly well, and would draw new readers to pick up the book because it is both beautiful and depicts an odd/unusual scene that needs explaining.

Heya Pam, the links from the small cover version on your site all seem to give a 404 error instead of going to larger versions....

The original book club cover is the most horrible cover I've seen, outside of a couple of the Pern covers.

That's because the larger versions aren't there. It was taking forever to upload them to the site on my ridiculously slow connection.

I like Whelan's Killa in coveralls and Steve Weston's sexy Killa in the water off the polly island best but am also much impressed with Jim Burns cover for the UK trilogy!
