First an oldie, taken off the coast of current Croatia (still Yugoslavia) all of 32 years ago (when I still was into photography. And I'm happy to be back again)

And this is a much more recent shot (this year actually), a close up of water, some plants and small stones in a shallow creek very near my home, a creek of the Oude Maas river. The Maas is the same as the Meuse, which has its start somewhere in France and then passes my house about a thousand meters away. This size really doesn't do the picture justice, you should see it much bigger! If you look at it from a distance it looks drab. But close up and with some light, a whole new world emerges! The river is a tidal river (rare in my country because we usualy put dykes everywhere to protect us ) and that makes for interesting light-play.

Not only has the Tolkein an interesting name, her owners are called Van Der Rest!!

I used to live on a boat rather like your second one.

She's the J. R. Tolkien, that pic is too small to show it. She was a very pretty little yacht!
Sorry for the double posting, my computer is being an utter pig lately!

Pam, your second photo is terrific. (I'll have to put that location on my "must go and see one day" list...).

I like P'ter's ducks too (must go and visit duck pond...).

Thanks!

It's about two hours from my house and I've got a guest room

(and the same shot from June)
