These are both from the Huntington Gardens in California. It's one of my favorite places.

Here's two more I've shown in the past.

Ramoth's Flower

Honeysuckle Through Mnementh's Eyes

One of these days, I might actually get to post something new in a topic.

Fabulous bluebells (oops ).

My first picture goes outside the box somewhat, but still comes under this theme. Here is an interesting collection of seaweed I saw a few weeks ago in Birsay Bay, Orkney:

And my second picture returns to normality but time travels back to 2002, when Lanen and I made a particularly successful hanging basket. (It was the year of our wedding .)

Hmmm. I think I oversharpened the second image when I first posted this. Here is a better, and slightly softer version.

OK, with the indecent amount of plants I photograph (mainly in my wife's garden and at all the garden , shows etc, she "drags" me to) it is very, very, VERY hard to chose!

I might have shown this one before:

Within the plethora of plant and flower pictures I have I found this unusual one. Plants and flower are usually full of colour, well, not in this backlighted scene. It is sombre, desperate and downcast and that's exactly why I chose it. Plants off the beaten track... Black and grey but with a hint of gold.

Firstly a closeup of a bouquet that my sister was given:

And second, a shot of my mother in law's orchid:

I had to go check a window yesterday and found these in my back yard and on the side of the house. I thought they were interesting so ran in and grabbed the camera.

Kat, I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but we actually only allow 2 photographs per person per subject...

The thing is that this also makes people think (and search in their stock) for the most exciting and best pictures

If you (just) want to show/share with us, something we also very much appreciate, you can just post in exhibit hall. If you also want critique, post in the concrit forum!

This is another topic that produced some really good pictures. I couldn't quite make up my mind which picture was my favourite: Cheryl's lovely leaf and bark textures or those fantastic bluebells from Kath. And then Hans submitted that picture of the Allium. Wow, that is terrific! I can't make up my mind if the blurring in the centre adds a sense of depth and mystery or spoils the overall sharpness. Hans, Next time you take a similar picture, you could perhaps take several shots and manually tweak your focus setting each time to cover a different depth of field; then get Photoshop to blend the photographs together for maximum depth of field. But either way that Allium picture is a stunner.
