Not close to be newborn but we had so few photos of Junior at that time, that this was probably the closest, I can give you at that particular time ~ this was when he was at RCH and yes, he's got "straws" up his nose, otherwise known as stents to help him breathe because he had small nasal passages which as a result, stopped him from breathing properly:

However he's perfectly okay now, 11 years later

I have to resort to posting pictures that I didn't take for this one. When I've been around newborns, it was still at ages when my parents weren't letting me use the camera since I was 4 1/2 and 7 years old respectively when my sisters were born, and most of my cousins I didn't see until awhile after they were born.

This is also a professional photo, but it's the only thing on my laptop at the moment, and it'll take some time to find and scan some of the other photos.

So, after the long winded explanation, I present a photo of me taken while I was still in the hospital. I forget how long after I was born it was taken, but probably no more than a day or two after.

Maybe not a folk singer, but I will own up to having a variety of musical talents.

I was born on Easter Sunday. Somewhere we have a snapshot of the Easter Bunny (or someone in a bunny suit...) visiting Mom and me in the hospital room! If I can find that I'll scan it.

I actually did some photo scanning today, and low and behold, look at what I found.

Both of these are me holding my baby sisters while still in the hospital. I'm 4 1/2 years old in the first photo, and 7 years old in the second.

Douglas - 1302, 12 November 1978, Queen Charlotte's Hospital, Hammersmith. He was born at exactly 1300, and this was two minutes later, still with some blood and goop on his face and hair! He was grumpy, but Susan seemed pleased . . .

More like "Do I really need the paparazzi around me?" Farclas.

They're all good photos and each scenario's different - shows different aspects of how we perceive newborns.

Thumbs up Re: SPECIAL thematic topic: newly born

If my scanner and computer could talk I could post an image of myself. at 1 pound 10 oz. I could fit in the palm of my dad's hand. The dresser I sleep in the first year I was born is right next to me.

Just think of a loaf of bread you get the idea.

I can't post, can see too hot at the moment. Nice images folks.

You just reminded me Ginny, I used to sleep in a dressing table's drawers when mum and dad used to travel due to dad's job. Amazing what parents will use if they haven't got a cot available.

There were some times when I slept in a basket on the floor when we went to visit my mother's parents because they didn't have a crib. I know there's a picture, but those pictures are not in any of the boxes when I went through my scanning spree the other day.

Okay, finally getting my own added to this thread.

Twelve minutes old and already smiling sweetly

Thirty minutes old, watching Mom make phone calls to tell everyone about her

Holding Daddy's finger

Day and half old, lifting up her head already
