High School student. I write fanfics and draw various things - anything from cartoony people to viscious-looking beasts. I also love ma music...you'll almost always see me wearing headphones.

I'm also a hardcore Resident Evil and Silent Hill fan, and am currently playing, and loving, Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas. I got it before it was banned. Haha, suckers!

(Note: The above does not mean that I'm gonna go postal on people. It's only a game.)

I love horror films (Saw, Night of the Living Dead, and Black Christmas own) and fantasy things. What Dreams May Come made me cry. My favorite authors include J.K. Rowling, Anne McCaffrey, S.D. Perry, and the guy who wrote Pendragon.

Hi everyone!

My name is Don, and I've been a fan of Anne McCaffrey since I received a copy of Dragonflight for my 10th birthday.

I've read all of the Pern books many times over, but I've fallen behind and haven't read anything since ATWOP.

Besides McCaffrey, I'm also a huge fan of Stephen R. Donaldson, especially the 1st and 2nd Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series. When reading through this thread today, I realised that I never introduced myself properly. I did start a thread saying hi, but I never did tell anything about myself other than my username on the NKT was DreamCake at the time (I've since changed it to Nefermiw).

Well, here's about me:

I was born on the last day of July in 1977 in Copenhagen, Denmark. I've always read a lot, and my favourite genre have always been fantasy and sci-fi. One day when I was 14 (I think) I found the Anne's Harper trilogy in the library and really liked the books. But only about 5 of Anne's books have been translated into Danish, so I had to venture into the grown ups section of the library to find the English versions of the books. Ever since then I have hardly read any books in Danish :LOL:. Since it was Menolly who introduced me to the wonderful world of Pern, I have a soft spot for the Harper trilogy, but I really do count the Crystal singer books as some of my favourites too.

As the years went by, I've managed to finish two educations: Technical Drafter/Designer (maschines, not houses) and I've got a BA in egyptology from the University of Copenhagen. I got married May 2004, and in August 2004 I moved to Heidelberg in Germany with my husband, who is doing his PhD here in astronomy (he's into planet formation). We have no kids, but we have a 17 year old blue fronted amazone parrot. Currently I'm kind of looking for a job in the field of CAD, but I'm in no hurry.

Well, greetings, mamm'ls. XD I'm JulyFlame, JF, July, any other combination you can think of is fine as well.

I'm only fifteen, but I've been wanting to be an author since I was five. And an author I shall be unless other things happen and then I'll just choose to live in a public library. I've been devouring books since about that age as well. I live in Texas, right on the border. I've only been to Mexico once but considering I shouldn't have been in Mexico at all and this was when I was really young, it really doesn't count. XD

I've become an avid McCaffery fan since about two, three months ago when I first read her books and letting it soak in a bit. I had read Dolphins of Pern last year but it didn't really sink in since it was in the middle basically. XD I read the three-in-one book, that has the first three in there. It took me about a day and a half and left me reeling for more and planted funny (odd) Pern-based dreams as well. XD I can tell you I'm not going to attempt such a feat again for at least a few months.

This'll be the first forum I've wandered onto with this sort of format, I believe, but that's not going to stop me from trying to become a large participant here. Maybe I'll even thunk out a fanwork or two. It's also the first time in years since I've purposely gone forum searching. XD All the rest I've found links to or've been told to join.

I usually save online things for fanfiction. Books belong in hand. It feels more right. And I know about the inter-library loan system, I've never had really any interest in using it. But I will make sure to check to see if any other nearby libraries have any of her books I haven't seen yet in the ones I go to.

Thankfullly since I read both of those not so long ago I won't have to recheck them out! XD Maybe. As for the semi-RP/fanfic thread in the gamesroom I'll be glad to help. I've noticed at any rate fanfics for her books are rather rare and I've only found one so far that's even of decent quality. Or follows her fanwork rules. :P
