Actually, my cats love it when I sit down at the ole compy. They assume I'm going to be still for a while and the old lady of the bunch claims my lap while the junior deports himself on the monitor. (I think he likes the warmth.)

Oh yes! My chihuahua Jasmine nibbles on my toes if she thinks I've been ignoring her for to long. If I pick her up and put her on my lap or on the desk, she jumps all over the keyboard! Some of my stranger typos have her name all over them...

Our dog doesn't care how long we're on the compie or watching tv or etc.... but she knows when it's time for us to go to work or bedtime or dinnertime or walkies. And if we go to the river, she keeps an eye on what we're doing (her version of making sure that we're okay and not getting attacked by strange animals - this includes flies and bees *chuckles*).

Our dog Cosette doesn't really care, she just likes being in the room with us. Piglet on the other hand, will try to get into my hubby's lap (where his compy is) or he'll try and bully his way between me and my compy on the table.

I think you mean: let your animals know they want to pee, that they want food, or that they want attention? I suspect the concept of a computer hasn't enetered the animalmind, except maybe one primate I once saw on TV, and he was on the computer too lonng himself

Yeah, it's not that I've been on the computer too long, but if Bob wants attention, he may walk over and drop a squeeky toy in my lap. Then if I still ignore him, he tries to climb into my lap...... all 70 or 80 pounds of him.

My cat will try to worm his way into my lap, displacing my laptop if possible, so that I will pet him while I putter around online. Usually not a problem, but when I happen to be playing a video game, it makes trouble. Other than that, he doesn't mind me being on the compy.

Peanut, RIP loved to lay with his paws over the monitor, he like the heat, Smokey tried that a few time, till we got this new desk set up.

Smokey is known to nip my toes, if he Meow and putting his paws on me don't work, in fact they 'watch cats' at time I'm under stress and the 'flaming' attacks come. Or if Dan J. has one they come and get me,

Reggie, could not make himself understood, I was working on some paperwork my bed was full, so I used Dan's bed to take a nap, I used my white cane to get there safely but forget, that what he been trying to tell me, so when Dan got home he took him to his bed room and found what I missed my cane. *chuckles* at that memory, if he was a dog, I think he would carried in his mouth to me somehow, too long to do it, 52'.

He also pick up and returned to us a pair of dropped socks when got back from our trip with my dad.

I ment to comment early on but my computer was having a hiss fit.

Not really. My cat Angel would rather sleep, though she's very good at letting me know when her food/water's low or her litter box too full. Pats and rubs agianst me to get my attention, then when she has it retreats and waits to see if I'll follow her. That happens more often than the times when she decides to jump up on my desk and chair and walk back and forth, either setting behind the laptop or on my mousepad for a few minutes in between wanderings.

My dog Emma doesn't mind us being on the computer as long as she is in our lap at the time or on the desk. But when we're reading something, she always tries to push her way in our lap - makes it really difficult for us to read anything.
She's in my lap as we speak, I might add.
