New computer - A Meeting of Minds

It's arrived!

after much deliberation my sister helped me to pick a customised Dell Inspiron with an AMD processor, which meant it had to be updated alot, but I wanted an AMD processor and a decent pc without having to buy a VERY expensive computer!

It's so odd having a new laptop, and being able to go online without w...a...i...t...i...n...g for the computer to catch up!
The keyboard's just like my old laptop so expect lots of typos for a while!

But it'll be so nice to have a laptop with a battery and enough power for my needs, and believe me MathCad neds all the power it can get!

And it's sooo shiny-white and silver and is already dusty after 2 hours!

You're right, the shiny white bit DOES pick up dust. Dang it. What most annoyed me is that the moment I touched mine, I got oily fingerprints on it. *grumble*

Woohoo. break it in, gently of course. thats the one thing I dislike about new laptops, you have to break in the mouse. but YAY congrats to you!!!

I'm hoping to get a laptop for my 18th in time to go to Uni with. My grandfather managed to somehow get white paint on my computer tower...¬.¬

You can buy special hand-held vaccums for computers now. They may look like a gimmick, but they're a gimmick that certainly works...^^

I use my glasses spray on monitors- it doesn't damage coated lenses so it shold be ok for monitors.

ah, but LCD/Plasma screen (as I have on my Mac) doe need other care than glasses/lensen, dear. But it won't be agressive in damaging if any could occur, no way.

I've noticed that some of the new laptops in the stores have a glass-like surface on their screens. i'm guessing that if Edith's new "toy" has the same type of screen it should be safe. But if it's like the normal old ones, I definitely wouldn't use a spray.
