This thread has been running in AMCF on a semi-regular basis for a while bow. It's been interesting to see the many and varied images people use for them over there.

Currantly, I'm on a Star Trek Starship kick, and I tend to change my Desktop piccie once a month so I don't get bored with the same pic.

This is my currant one, USS Pelagic, someones idea of a Starship Class beyond the Sovereign Class.

Helva what else !!! I have the Hildebrant cover of course...haven't ever thought of anything else that I wanted other that my kids on there.

Martin has the photo we had taken at World Con of us in the Star Trek Set, now that was amazing to do and see.

I'm getting the impression that I have a very boring desktop compared to everyone else- I've had the same image for a year!
Even at home I'm the onlyperson with a default desktop! My little brother has a picture I drew for his... or at least he did last time I looked!

I used the cover of AtWoP as my desktop for years, then I finally started changing it upon occassion. Now it changes multiple times of years, most often a picture of my kids, but sometimes I pick pretty scenery for a change of pace.

I use a photo I took of the Yellowstone River at the brink of the Upper Falls in Yellowstone National Park. I also have the desktop icons turned off so nothing obscures the picture - except when I'm using the system. Program access is via custom toolbars on the auto-hidden taskbar.

For the longest time now, mine has been a picture of the world at night with red dots marking the places where the people I've worked with were coming from. As you can see, we were quite an international group! The reason part of the US and Australia are cut off is due to screen size.

How can it be a "desktop" if it's the picture of what you usually have on your computer screen? I'm a very literal person, I guess. Oh, and I have a picture of Stonehenge, mostly because I like it, and I never hang around it long enough to care about changing it. My husband put it there, and I've never bothered to find out how to put up anything different.

Easiest way to change it: find a big beautiful picture on the net, right-click on it and select Set As Background.
