I remember once being on a PERN forum somewhere... not sure if it was this one or not!

Anyway, real name is Miguel, but most folks on forums call me Ozzie because I live Down Under. Long time PERN fan, have even written some PERN-dedicated twiddles and put some of the teaching ballads to music (and then I discovered the CD, which I was mostly impressed with!)

A bit about myself: I'm a veterinarian working in Western Australia south of Perth. Besides my work which demands most of my time, I also write music and engage in some fiction writing, practice Tai Chi, go for the occasional SCUBA dive (being an ex-marine scientist) and spend an awful lot of free time helping people out with behavioural problems with their pets (which is what I'm specialising in my veterinary training. Arthritis at the age of 29 does not help my practice as a surgeon.)

Anyway, looking forward to meeting folks here and following the development of the Dragonrider's movie!

As a newcomer here, I thought I'd just let you all know a bit about me.

My real name is Jim and I'm 39 years old (same as Pern

). I'm maried to Jess (also an AM fan) and we have two children: James (nearly 6) and Mary (4).

I really love reading and, aside from AM, I'm particularly into HP Lovecraft, Tolkien, JK Rowling, Philip K Dick, Terry Pratchett, David and Leigh Eddings, Michael Moorcock, as well thoroughly enjoying biographies and auto-biographies.

Music wise, I like most styles of music but tend to lean toward 70s rock (blame that on my age). In particular I like Rush, Queen, Pink Floyd, Genesis (Gabriel era), Marillion (Fish era), Kinks, Small Faces and The Sweet. I also play Bass and a bit of guitar and enjoy song writing.

In addition, I also write short stories, drink real ale, eat curry and enjoy painting.
