Default Pilots Choice

This is an omnibus of two new Liaden Universe novels by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. Anne writes an introduction. It's a really cute intro by Anne, that talks about this series of books being her 'comfort' books.
ISBN is 1-892065-11-8 hc and 1-892065-02-9 pbk.
I got the paperback in order to have the intro in some form. Yes, I collect ANYTHING that Anne has written. Even if it's a page or two. I even have a copy of Eric Carle's book Dragons Dragons that has 2 LINES...... "Oh, Tongue, give sound to joy and sing of hope and promise on dragonwing!" That's it in it's entirety.

Hmm, is it time for a thread of books with intro's written by Anne?

She did one for Tea With the Black Dragon by MacAvoy, which perhaps just appears on the special leather bound edition. (Which perhaps I should point out to Maelin was signed by Anne and the author and illustrator.)

Becky, Hans and I stumbled on to her inclusion in Carle's Dragons Dragons the other day and were debating whether it should be collected! I may well get it, though keeping my children from damaging it will be fun as they'll assume it's for them!

There is also Destination Unknown from 1997 that Anne wrote the introduction too. ISBN 1-56504-941-1 on my paperback issue.
I'll have to go check my collection to see if any others have an intro by Anne. I do have Tea also, so I've got to find out if I've got all Anne's intros.

The solution for your Carl's Dragons Dragons, Cheryl, get two! One for you and one for the kiddies!

Thank you Cheryl, as I remembered we talked about this one yesterday, I didn't realize that it had all the signatures in it also. I will have to go and see if I can find myself a nice little copy, unless it cost the moon !!!!

I'd forgotten about the sigs when I mentioned it to you yesterday, so I made sure to post about them! I found some copies for around $50 (and up to $200)

Got my copy a few days ago and Anne loves this book series. She calls these her 'comfort books'. I found reading about that rather odd, since Anne's books are MY comfort books!

I ended up spending this weeks money on another prize so I will have to go and see about getting it on another day. It does seem to be a must have after all.

Had to dig up this thread because I am hunting book values in my 'spare' time. I didn't find any of these books for sale in my first search on bookfinder.com so went to eBay. Found one for sale in a buy it now for $45! I was shocked! So went back to bookfinder and redid my search and found 22 this time with prices starting at $45 on up to $170, of which NONE are signed! Majorly shocked!!! And yes, the prices are for the paperback omnibus. One 98.99 copy is for a 2nd printing. I did not pay near that amount when I posted the original thread in May 2006. Wow!
I've been surprised at the value of some of the paperbacks! Just proves that a paperback isn't as valueless as you might think!
