I agree, and I think we were both joking about being "old" (I know I was). Jenn's boyfriend told me the other day that I don't "act" old, while he said his mother who is 13 years younger than me acts like an old woman. Made me feel pretty good!

Today I clipped a whole lot of branches off the rhododendron bushes. They were crowding and shading the lilac bushes I brought with us from the other house. I wore leather palmed gardening gloves but still have a black and blue (that doesn't hurt) on the index finger that did most of the work with the clippers. I'd really like the rhododendron to be all gone, but I think that is beyond my capabilities. Next up, trimming the wineberry bushes so we get a nice crop this summer.

Like Cilla said, we were joking about being old. I don't ever intend to consider myself old. Right now, dh and I are living in our fifth wheel. We walk, bike, and dance. We enjoy traveling and and seeing new places. There's no time to be old!! lol

We got some bad news regarding Seth, today. Right now he has been having a lot of mini seizures ever day. We think all the times he has wet his pants he was really having them.

They are going to an MRI before saying that he has Tuberous sclerosis, the same thing Robin has. He has all the signs. Luckily he does not have the developmental delayed.

When we think of the number of times we have punished him for pee in his pants we all feel guilty. We also feel lucky that he has not had one in the tub. No more bathing alone for him.

Mawra, it's good that it's getting diagnosed now and that your family has familiarity with it already, but I'm sorry for Seth having to face this and for the new challenge it presents to your family. Try not to feel too guilty about the past; you did what you thought best at the time with the knowledge you had at the time.

Ginny - enjoy the warmth of Florida! I imagine that will be a welcome change from this winter. I was just out in 15F weather for 20 min, and have now been inside for 20 and my cheeks are still numb.

Nope, sorry. I like dogs and cats, I don't need some contrived commercial trying to sell me beer to make me think they are cute. I love cute dog and cat videos by themselves, there are some wonderful ones.

Congratulations on finishing, Maw! I decided a long time ago that I am a reader, not a writer. Writers need someone to read their books, don't they? I don't believe everyone is cut out to be a writer and after a couple woeful attempts I donated a couple ideas to NaNoWriMo and now I can happily sew and read!

I'm glad they were able to diagnose him Mawra and congrats on the book.

May it warm up soon for my friends in the extreme cold. Enjoy Florida Ginny.

I know you guys were joking about age. I made my comment because that has always been my dad and my joke. I agree with everyone above on age.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. This week has been very healing for me. I will miss my mom but she passed knowing that we loved her and there is no better gift.

I won't complain about weather except to say "we need rain" in CA. These drought conditions are annoying.

I had always sort of thought that one of the "draws" of the Super Bowl is the unveiling of the "Fabulous" commercials - for the first time?! If they are leaked days in advance doesn't that sort of spoil things? Not that I care, I will be sewing through it. I'm just curious.

I understand where you're coming from. I can see why some companies would release their commercials early. For instance, Inbev has drawn a lot of heat for buying Anheuser-Busch and AB for selling out. So they're so well known for their Clydesdale commercials that they might want to sneak-peek theirs to garner interest. More and more, their ads have shown less and less of the Budweiser emblems in the ads. The symbols are there; the horses, the dalmations, the beer wagon. But they're relying on the symbolism rather than the actual signs, it seems.

Commercialism at its best? Or just another ploy to sell a product?

I just read where AB (Inbev) has 3 30 second ads and 2 60 second ads. This is for Bud Lite and Budweiser, both. This year's price is $4,000,000 for 30 seconds. Keep that in mind if you're watching the ads this year.

How many commercials will there be?

It's over 50F here today, so of course we're expecting snow tomorrow. This happened two weeks ago, with it over 50F on Mon followed by 9 inches of snow on Tues.

My son finally has his neurology appointment in the morning, which is nicely complicated by the forecast as school for my girls might be delayed or cancelled and I have to find friends to help for each possible circumstance.

Oh dear. At least I hope your friends are able to help. I'm sure you don't want to miss that appointment!

Our friends were coming to watch the Super Bowl here. I had a phone call from him at about 12:30 that Sue was not feeling well and was asleep. Then, I get a call from her at 2:30 "just a cold, we'll be there". Really? It's okay to bring cold germs here so you can get out of your parents' house ( they are 96 & 99, Sue & Jim have to stay with them) and watch on a big tv? Yes, I could have said don't come but I am a wimp and did not. Disinfecting after they leave! Also, Jim wants to use his laptop here as Sue's parents only have dial up for internet.

I am bad, I have been laughing at Hubby reaction to the Super Bowl game and making fun of his team. He told me to go away.

Seth did really well this weekend. His rash is almost gone. I did not notice him doing anything that might have seizure related. I had him and Emmi this weekend. The mother needed a break.

Now, hoping Cheryl is able to get to that Dr. Appointment today. All the schools around here are closed.

Ah, football. Really, the best part is that the season is over and there won't be any for a few months. However, the spectre of baseball is looming on the horizon. That is even more boring!

I agree that watching on tv has to be the most boring. I have gone a few times with Jenn's boyfriend and walked the nine hole course with him while he golfs. That is pleasant and decent exercise.

Madison's teacher told Melissa that she is looking for and spotting punctuation and grammar mistakes in books that she reads. Her teacher is amused.

I wish Emmi had as good a teacher as Madison has. I guess having two good teachers in the same year would be asking for to much.

We made it to the dr, despite rain changing to freezing rain on the way there, snow on the way home. His diagnosis is an extended migraine (not chronic migraine, which has specific meaning and criteria), and we now have a set of drugs to try on it (one as needed, one daily for maintenance) and more ideas for sleep management. Hopefully we can break the cycle of this migraine soon and get G back to school.

I would not say that's exactly wonderful but having a diagnosis and a plan must bring a bit of relief! I hope he's much better very soon!

The weather is sure crazy. Snow tonight and a possible really big storm Sunday into Monday. I think I'm ready for Spring!

Did you miss ne? On January 2, I rigged when I should have zagged, and I flipped my wheelchair off the top of my ramp at home. I cracked my head on the concrete driveway and broke my left arm just below the shoulder. Because I only have one leg, I needed help with daily activities for a while, so I spent three weeks in a care facility, including physical therapy. I've been home now for a week and a half, but I still need help in and out of the shower, and I still need physical therapy, neither of which has happened. Insurance is so slow in making things happen nowadays. I want this stuff done and over with so I can go back to work.
