I'd buy the shelves if I had wall space to put them somewhere.

Ohh...nice bookshelves.

If there's one thing spurring me onto getting my own house in the future it's being able to buy bookshelves instead of making them. xD

Making them is a lot cheaper! XD

I invest in book ends at the moment, then every available flat space becomes a bookshelf!
I do have one large case with 5 shelves and a couple of media cases that are devoted to books instead, but I do not have enough wallspace to devote to additional cases, so bookends have become my solution.

It's been a while since I've found a neat bookcase to share. But the drought is now over!

It's certainly...different! I can see interesting potential for housing books of different sizes, especially for extra tall books laying on the long flat portions. I think I'd have fun putting a book collection in it.

Click for more info on this bookshelf.

Cheryl, this is a very inspirational bookcase!

I was wondering about the actual size of the bookcase and went to see the link attached and was when I saw that the biggest room was the size for a pear or an apple

However, if this bookcase was built to fit a whole wall, it would indeed be an interesting artwork in itself.

Ahh wonderful book collections all of you.

I've no pictures of my massive collection I had at my Gram's house.
Inmy bedroom, I at 2 6'X1'x10" shelves filled with various language books and translations(Russian, germna, japanese, CHinese etc.)
2 small night stand cabinet 2' by 1' by 1' deep, filled with books. SHelving 'hutches' on the dressers filled. 40" long 3' high 10" deep book shelve by the bed(5 shlves high) filled with fnastisy, sci-fi , science and biology, and SUnday school teaching materials.

Basement, 2 7' hight 4' wide shelves also filled . These were a garage sale find. Hand built by the seller, with cabinets. These quickly filled with trek books and more tech manuelas.. My desk's shelves are full, the bathroom had a small shelf with books. Living room's built in shelf filled. <Scratches head> Uhh I think the books took over the house. :-)

My Gram and I are readers.
In my new residence, no space for my shvles.:'( too small here. My collection is packed away in a tempreture controlled environment. So I'll have to patiently wait until I reside in a bigger house to put up the shelves.

My husband is a reader too. We tend to inhabit book stores, commercial and used stores, and libraries. We go in for a few minutes and don't eemerge for hours.

How about this one? Handy if you have infinite books (but perhaps don't like some as much and want to hide them on the inside...

Sorry, I do not like this one. It is too space consuming and inaccessible for my taste. It is more suited for decoration in a museum.

Oh I love this one Cheryl...if only I had won the lottery and had the space to put it in...this would make a beautiful center piece in an art room/library...the color of the books would add nicely to the colors in hanging art paintings...or sculpture setting on the tops of the book case.

Damn it, where is that coffee table?! Everyone in my family (including myself) always leaves books on the table, and they stay there until some of us notices that there is no place to put a cup on it. Than we clean it, and I always wondered why, because the table will get filled again in a matter of minutes. If it survives clean for a day, there's celebration!
As for the bookshelves... wow, and I thought mine are full. My mum gives me the look every time I say there's a new book that I think of buying. The bookshelf in the house didn't make much difference either, we brought the classics there from my mum's room, and still, after we filled the holes between the other books with the book which were laying in my room, the shelves were packed!
As for the books; there are many, in my room are mostly SF, as that's what my brother and my read, and books that we need to read for school, children books and young adult books. If I have to name some, one shelf is all Terry Pratchett, and then there's Tolkien, Asimov, McCaffrey (just the first trilogy), Shakespear, and... and... well, I can't remember right now! Under the books are the magazines and many comics and encyclopaedias.

But if I can get the images I've got a neat way to store, books the overside kind. Binder mostly but, I've come across the image, busy right now.
