Date change, McCaffrey Quest shifted to 5th weekend in October! - A Meeting of Minds

As we've (really I've) been really off our game in terms of advertising for McCaffrey Quest this year, and we could also use a bit more time to pull everything together, we've decided to push it back two weeks from the date we had been planning to hold it.

MQ2006 will be held on the 5th weekend in October, aka Nov 3rd-6th (it's always an October event, it just so happens the 5th weekend falls in November this year

).

The topic is Crystal Singer and 9th Pass Pern.

The majority of the questions will be multiple choice this year, but we will still have some open-ended questions.

We have in our prize pool this year oodles of fabulous goodies for the top 10% of entrants to choose amongst. We'll get the full list up soon!

Darn, you can count me out then.

I'm in Denmark visiting family and friends from Oct. 30th - Nov. 7th.
I really had a lot of fun participating last year, and had hoped to find time to do so again this year - and Crystal singer is my favourite series too.

Oh well, I guess I will have to be contend with not joining the competition, and just have fun answering the questions for my own entertainment at a later date.

May the Finest Fact-Finding Fan win!

You don't have internet access when visiting the relatives or you mean you can't take the time to answer the questions?

Would it help if you received the questions by mail?

Well, I have access to internet at both my husband's parent's house (where we will be staying 30th-4th) and also at my mother's house (where we are staying 5th-7th), but it's usually appointment-packed when I'm in Denmark. The Quest begins on the 3rd and I'm meeting with friends all that day. On the 4th I'll be visiting a friend most of the day, and the 5th it's my nephews birthday and in the evening we are driving down to the south of Denmark to stay at my mother's place. And then I have a day with my mother and her husband before we take the train back to Germany early next morning on the 7th.

I haven't been in Denmark since February, so I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.

That said, I would have 10 hours to spend on the train from Germany to Denmark on Oct. 30th

(- though, it wouldn't be fair if I got a headstart on the others just because I have other plans.)

I'll just and have a go at the the Quest when we come back, even though it means I won't be contending for a prize.

@Nefermiw, I truely hope you have a very nice visit with your family and friends. You will be missed as a contestant for the McCaffrey Quest, but there is always next time hopefully.

Hooray Ilona! I definitely think the birthday girl can get away with insisting that one of her presents is to be left alone however long it takes to work on MQ2006!
