I decided a month or two ago (or three, perhaps now) that my Pernese name would be 'Sarea' (Inserting a random vowel always works. xD) but my parent's names are;

'Heather' and 'Phillip'

-Blinks-

So...erm...-Shrugs-

I guess if I was to have another pernese name, I could use Sariam. My mothers name was Sara and my fathers name was William.

Sara, you could use Pheather.

When I was writing at Rocky Crater Weyr Hold (what seems like ages ago), my character was J'rad...

But looking at things now... well my parents were/are called John and Jaquilin, and as there eldest I guess I would get the best of the combinations you can make with that

I think the best me and the other half came up with one night (after a bottle of whiskey) was "Quin" or "Joquin."

Sandi, yours would probably be Gesela/Gesila (not sure of correct spelling but it's of Austrian or similiar descent) for a female or G'zil for a male - only limited to one's imagination.

In my family, the shortened versions would be R'bert, P'ter (not our MoM's P'ter), Liani (say it as "Le-arn-i) and well mine probably be an ancient-timer's name but not a current one so I'll stick to Jube as I'm too sweet at the moment! Not sure if you could get much out of Pam and Russell.

Jennael is the only thing that I can come up with that looks good to me by combining Michael and Jennifer.

Nelamie, this one came to me while thinking about one set of my grandparents' names, Neil and Amy.

Maybe inspiration will come to me and I'll find some clever way to combine my first name and middle name, but that is for another day.....

I've just remembered I've given my family members their Pernese names as well. -Chuckles- Here they are.

Matilda = Matilda - (Great Grandmother)
Arthur = Arebalt - (Great Grandfather)
May = Maya - (Great Grandmother)
Sam = Seram - (Great Grandfather)

Doreen = Dorinn- (Grandmother (m)
David = D'vid - (Grandfather (m)

Shirley = Shirla - (Grandmother (p)
Reginald = Redin - (Grandfather (p)

Heather = Hellah (Mother)
Phillip = P'erin (Father)

Sara = Sarea (Me)

...I think I spent a good hour and a half of those initially...I even got 'Sherla' and 'Redin' to help. xD

I don't think I'd get much outta my parents' names (Walt and Jane), or even Granma's name (Georgianna), gods keep her. So I'd have to stick with my middle name, I guess, and just spell it "Lea". Lea the hermit poet-jeweler.

I'd use my first name, but K-names seem to be popular in Pern fandom. Gotta stand out somehow.

I write a lot of Pern stuff, and have a lot of personas. ;-) I feel like each persona I create has a little bit of "me" in him/her, so I guess I'd say I have a lot of Pern names:

Dragonrider Names:
Weyrleader N'lin (Bronze Virath)
Weyrlingmaster N'harn (Brown Nevvith)
Goldrider Teari (Gold Aometh)
Weyrling Vixea (Green Aciramyth)
Weyrling Sallana (Green Izzyith)

Non-Dragonrider Names:
Underage Lady Holder Tybl
Lord Warder Timal
Journeywoman Beastcrafter Tiralle
Apprentice Beastcrafter Tarana
Journeyman Seacrafter Tyvikron

I don't really have a Pernese name ...to create one I could use the name shared by my grandmother and great grandmother (Lura) and if worked with just my grandmother then would be Luranna or J'Lura ...depending I guess on what role I would play on Pern....
