I'm not sure anything is better than ice cream. Well, maybe vanilla. But certainly not chocolate or rum raisin or cookie dough or . . . Oh, I'm just being silly. Of course, your pony is just beautiful!

I originally wanted to call her Petunia Penelope, but that got shot down due to me not being less than ten years old

Could you please also tell what kind of snakes those are? I'm guessing the snakes and rats never come anywhere near each other, yes? I think snakes are cool, I just wouldn't want to own any. I do like seeing them outside, which doesn't happen as often as it used to. I'm afraid all the pesticide use over many decades in this country may have done a number on things like snakes and toads. Anyone else think that?

Ah yes sorry! Canth is a Columbia Rainbow Boa, Pyro is a Hypomelanistic (diffuses the colours to a brighter colour and turns black pigments bronze) Normal Carolina corn, Khisanth is a Mexican Black King and Kellendros is a Normal Miami Corn. If Pyro wasn't a hypo he'd look more like Kellendros but with an orange background instead of grey. The rats and snakes live very much separately, and the snakes are all fed on mice (too small for rats and as far as I am concerned always will be)

The thing with snakes is there's been a decline because of the poisons used in mouse and rat killing. Toads, as you say it's the pesticides. Sad what we're doing to the world when you think on it. Mouse and rat problems are fixed by cleanliness and good food storage, and heck a bit of bug bite on an apple never hurt anyone!

Beautiful horse & snakes. I use to have a Cal. Rosey Boa named Charlie. I had to get rid of him when we move to Va.
I need to get a picture of Aries, our goat, put up.

At the time we had Charlie we also had mice. Mice make good pets. I use love to watch the mice at the pet store where I worked. When they had babies it one left her babies the other one would take her babies & add them to her litter. I don't think any of them knew which baby belonged to what mother.

I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm kinda partial to equine type critters. Yours is a pretty pony indeed, Pam! (Isn't it fun trying to keep grass & other stains off white hide?)

Plat, your critters are really pretty. I've never had a pet snake unless I'm allowed to count the green snake that many years ago protected my flower beds from giant Alabama grasshoppers until one of my neighbors did away with her.

Priscilla, I think you're right. My daughter has a black snake that hangs around her berry patch sometimes but it does seem that there are fewer reptiles around any more. Green tree frogs seem to be making at least a little comeback in these parts but I haven't seen a toad in years.

It seems toads are becoming scarce all over the world. Here in Europe too. A few years ago an uncle of mine, who did business with Bulgaria, imported a lot of them as a favour to the Dutch wildlife foundation as they were (then) still prolific in that country but not in ours.

Here's my animal friend. Every morning when I go into the kitchen he throws himself against the walls of the tank to get my attention, just in case I might forget to feed him.

I'm SO excited! I know the pic is dreadful (had to take a pic of my mobile phone cos the guy txtd it to me and I've lost my transfer cable) BUT I get a new addition to my snakey collection tomorrow! Touch wood that her sexing as female is accurate, cos this is Pyro's new bride to be!

Meet either Lyriss or Cynysi (sin- i- see):

She is a perfect complement to Pyro. He is Hypo normal carrying the genes for bloodred (among others but they shouldn't effect any offspring) and the new little girl is a bloodred carrying the genes for hypo. SO... When we breed em in three years, we will get normal corns, hypos like Pyro, Bloodreds like mom and hypo bloodreds. (Bloodreds start off red and grey and as they grow older become solid red. Hypo bloodreds will do the same, but the red is much brighter.)

I will get more pics of her when she gets here tomorrow!

Okay, I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of snakes (there was one in my dream last night and it turned into a nightmare) But, I sure don't mind looking at such pretty ones when they're nowhere near me

Pam I've just looked up my Dream Book and what it says about Dreaming
Snakes
It;s a bit long
To dream that a dead snake is biting you, will suffer from malice of a
pretended friend
DREAMOF SNAKES,IS A FOREBODING OF EVIL IN IT'S VARIOUS FORMS AND
STAGES
SEE THEM WRIGGLING AND FALLING OVER OTHERS TELLS OF STRUGGLES
WITH FORTUNE AND REMORSE
TO KILL THEM YOU WILL FEELTHAT YOU HAVE USED EVERY OPPORTUNITYOF ADVANCING YOU INTERESTS OR RESPECTING THAT OF OTHERS YOU WILL ENJOY VICTORY OVER ENEMIES
That is only a small part full page on dreaming of Snakes
