Default Science Fiction Tales, Rand McNally,

So I just got Science Fiction Tales, Rand McNally. I got the 1977 first paperback printing (1st hardcover printing is 1973). It is a tradepaperback, very thin, with a very solid and stiff cover.

This is where "The Smallest Dragonboy" was first printed.
Sorry that some of the pictures kind of suck. I don't feel like retaking them

I paid 3.99$ and 3.50$ for shipping on ebay.

Well you have a nice copy of that anyway. I have only ever seen it in very poor condition.

What a coincidence, I recently became the temporary owner of the hardcover version. Temporary as the book was bought by Hans, but sent to me as it resided in the US, so I can send it along with a pile I've accrued for him

I've looked for the hardcover but I chose to settle for this. The price and condition were right!

I'd love to see the hardcover.

You have to store your picture on the internet somewhere. Then you paste the link into the little window after you click on the insert image icon.

Welcome SuzyQ!**

Just open a free account at Photbucket, ImageShack or some such service and paste the IMG code (they will automatically generate for you after you uploaded your pics) in a post here. Works like a dream

** do you just like that record, does it tell us something about your ages or is it just your real name?

Matt, I've got both soft and harcover editions. I'll bring the hardcover copy on Saturday when we meet at Hendersons.

There's also another neat printing of Smallest Dragonboy in a book titled BEYOND THE STARS. There are 3 different states of this book listed in Hargreaves, but I found a 4th! I just need the one by Octopuss Books. Hmm, I think I need to visit eBay! I've been looking for it so long and haven't found it that I gave it up and forgot about it! So thanks for the reminder!
Hargreaves lists Octopuss Books and St Michaels as publishers to identical covers. He also lists Cathay Books as doing an issue with a different cover. I found that there is a Cathay Books that's identical to the Octopuss Books and St Michaels.
I've got a friend who has tried to collect every printing of an Anne story. She's got a LOT of books!

wow! both versions... Your collection must be massive. Reading through your guide today I was amazed by how much stuff is out there that I did not know about. There's a few anthologies I'm looking for now.

It was YOU who introduced the concept of "hands first", O Master Collector

a concept that I am trying to read as Hans First because it sounds so similar...

Thank you Becky, I will go perhaps this afternoon and see if I can find one for myself. Perhaps even a HC version, like the one that you and Hans, both have. ...................
