Yes, I have the first three books or so of the Shannara series but it wasn't a series that could entrance me for longer than that number. While I understand the (financial) enticement of continuing a good (well paid) thing I can't be bothered by the latest handful of Shannara books.

The first rwo were brilliant though.

Yes, a good number of Shannara books, all of the Word and the Void, and the first two of the Genesis of Shannara trilogy that is / will be a transition between the two.

Like others I enjoyed the first few books, but have only ever read the later ones from the library (or at airport bookshops ) as I agree with Hans about Finance over Plot

I enjoy his books. I think somewhere in my little treasure trove, I've got a letter from him when he was in-between writing Shannara and The Knight of the Word series. That was some years back and I hope I haven't lost it.

I'm afraid that I've only read one of his books. It was The Elfstones of Shannara, it was pretty good. I picked it up at the library discard last year (that book, and many, many, MANY other books there! Lol! I came home with several bags of books!)

I have recently read these:

Magic Kingdom for sale sold
The black Unicorn
Wizard at Large
The Sword of Shannara
The Elfstones of Shannara
The Wishsong of Shannara

Much like the Harry Potter books Terry Brooks' books have the same plot structure easy identifiable in each one.

I enjoyed reading them, especially Magic Kingdom for sale sold, The Sword of Shannara and The Wishsong of Shannara.

They are now for sale for the price of postage, if anyone is interested.

The Rowan is my favourite!

"The name rowan is believed to derive from the Norse runa - "a charm". It was often planted outside houses to ward off witches. On May Day a spray of rowan leaves was hung over doors to repel evil, and wells dressed with rowan to keep witches away. The rowan, or mountain ash, is found commonly in Scotland, sometimes clinging to a rock face."
