Can this be for real?

A friend sent me this. I'm not sure who's more irritating, the dumb blonde or the smirking kid

The blonde is Kelly Pickler and she was on American Idol. She can sing pretty well and got pretty far, but she is the poster girl for all the 'dumb blonde' jokes or comments you can think of. She is NOT faking from what I can tell. She was that way on Idol too. Very sad.

Ignorance as an art form? If there is anyone truly as clueless as that, she surely wouldn't be able to breathe and talk at the same time. I just don't believe it - it's a tv gimmick.

Lara - I swear it's not. She really is that way! On Idol she would have the judges say something to her and the MC would have to explain some of the words! I've been trying to remember some of the things, but my old brain is just not coming forth with them. I can't believe she did that show at all! I knew she wasn't smarter than a 5th Grader!! I think now she's capitalizing on her lack of knowledge (sorry I just couldn't say stupidity!), rather like Jessica Simpson.
Oh! Sample from Idol - One of the judges called her a little minx and she had to have that explained to her. Although she had it explained later on, they didn't do it on the show and boy did she look confused. They went to commercial soon after he said that but her face was so puzzled looking.
I have wondered if she's had a learning disability of some kind to be that ignorant. If so then she needs to quit doing things like that and talk about it to try to get other kids help. If no disability, well then......

I THOUGHT she looked familiar!! Yes, I too recall her being, well, like that!! And I agree, to capitalize on your own lack of knowledge is another form of that lack of knowledge and it's not pretty. Maybe she thinks it's funny?? I sure don't. It is very sad......she shouldn't do things that put her in the public eye. At least not until she goes back to school and learns some basics about the planet she calls home and human nature!!

I don't believe it either. If she's not completely faking it, she's exaggerating it. My mom made me sit through some of that season of American Idol, so I've seen that, and I still don't think it's real.

Here in the same sort of programme a newly educated male teacher made the same fool of himself and had to drop out of class on the first (1st grade) question.

Very sad, indeed.

The Rowan is my favourite!

"The name rowan is believed to derive from the Norse runa - "a charm". It was often planted outside houses to ward off witches. On May Day a spray of rowan leaves was hung over doors to repel evil, and wells dressed with rowan to keep witches away. The rowan, or mountain ash, is found commonly in Scotland, sometimes clinging to a rock face."

There's a reason a friend of mine prefers to call the show American Idle on purpose. I agree with her.

Peter, one of my ballroom instructors, came into class one day several weeks ago and told us we HAD to look up this video and watch it. He was born and raised in Budapest, so you can imagine his feelings on the matter.

Actually, what drove me nuts was both DumbBlonde and the host kept mispronouncing "Hungary" as "Hungry." I'd to see either of them take on the word "Magyar". Anyone else want to see a (D-List) Celebrity Stupid Match between this girl and that contestant on Big Brother UK who was a little confused on where Cambridge is?

We watched "Are You Smarter . . . ?" this week, since my brother and mom both like it, and they had someone almost as stupid on. My husband and I were cracking up when one of the students rolled her eyes. It was hilarious.

We think that when the contestants are picked, they are picked for their stupidity, ignorance, and general 'let's make fun of the rubes'-ness.

@Becky: I watched her on American Idol too.

This might crack you up.. she did a massacre of a job on Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. You would never guess it was her because she hid behind this 80's punk-rock wig. And yeah, she can sing pretty well at times. lol. Honestly thought, I think she might just be as air headed as she comes across. It was funny at first but it get's tiring if you watch her for too long. I hope she's not milking it now for pure enjoyment now. sigh. Who knows.
