Pern Portfolio - Fan Fic - A Meeting of Minds

Back in 1978 there was an item called the Pern Portfolio that was put out by several Anne fans and sold at a convention (sorry don't remember which one). We have a copy of one that we're circulating around to those who wish to see it. It contains fan stories and art and is not really focused on only Pern. Since there are some great folks who post their fiction here I thought some of you might be interested in seeing this item.

Becky, This is a great idea

...as there are some very interesting stories in the Portfolio, that a lot of the writing members would certainly enjoy reading.

One thing that I've only just realized is that the stories in the Portfolio are using Anne's main characters. One story is about F'nor and Canth - I think it's titled Canth's Choice or something. If I'm not mistaken that's a big no no now. I don't do fanfic myself, so only know there are some restrictions to the writing, but not exactly what they are.
If someone can inform me I'd be grateful.

There was a middle period to Pern fanfic where it wasn't allowed to use the main characters, or to use Benden Weyr or Ruatha Hold as locations. But almost all restrictions have been lifted, as of when Anne's KT board was shut down. The only things you can't do now are slasher/pornographic stories.

I've been hanging out about fanfiction.net and there have been some pretty entertaining stories, but as far as I'm happy, all Anne wants us to do is "play nicely, children" which is really great of her, IMO.
