I was scrambling metaphors

a) Yes you can butter eggs (makes the shells slippery though).

b) Yes you can butter eggs; it's another name for scrambled.

But on the whole, I prefer scrambled eggs to scrambled metaphors - They're tastier.

Oh, did I miss the chocolate brew? I have been nursing the flu all week (my spring break week). I think I have missed a few things. I think I need to sit down somewhere and just savor the brew. No alcohol for awhile. I just want to curl up and recoup.

I miss summer already, it will be 2degrees celcius tomorrow morning (Friday) according to the weather report on the news. You northerners at least will be looking forward to summer soon. Poor Jube, I might just need a cuppa of hot chocolate, please brew me a cup, P'ter. I'll even help carry the wood in and start the fire up.

I am sooo sorry Jube. I am looking forward to a warm spring and summer. I would not mind the winter so much if I at least had snow with the cold. Texas doesn't have much snow. We did have some this year, but that is not the norm.
P'ter makes a really find cup of hot chocolate brew. Just wonderful to curl up with a good book in from of the fire.

OK, all of those who want to join us for the outing to the recently opened Tulips Fields, write your name on the board down in the hallway.

press release:
LISSE/THE NETHERLANDS
Dutch Crown Prince Willem Alexander has officially opened the 59e edition of the world famous international flower exhibition of Keukenhof in Lisse, The Netherlands. As a member of the International Olympic Committee the Royal Highness cut a ribbon, supported by the Honorable Ambassador of the People Republic of China in the Netherlands, H.E. Mrs Xue Hanqin, the vice mayor of Beijing City, Mr Niu Youcheng, and the chairwoman of the Dutch Olympic Committee, Mrs Erica Terpstra. The latter, an Olympic swimming champion of Tokyo 1964, was more or less an opening veteran since she performed in a similar ceremony in 1996. The emphasis on sports did have a reason. The Keukenhof exhibition selected China and The 2008 Olympics, Beijing, as this years main theme. This influenced the opening pro-gramme. Amongst others the Chinese MTV Award winner 2007 China Girls performed a very special concert, being a mixture of both Chinese and western classic and pop music, played on a electrical violin, an electrical cello, a flute as well as an erhu, the traditional Chinese knee violin.

Well, here are not much pictures to be found yet of this years Keukenhof season of course

But one of the pics from the press release you might find interesting as seen that you are all Anne McCaffrey fans (remember the themes is China and the Olympics)

The gigantic Chinese dragon (33 x 50 feet!) is made of no less than 24,500 tulips and muscaris. It's one of the highlights of this years exhibition because the theme this year is China and the Olympic Games.

If you want to look at more pictures from earlier years go here: please click me and there's also a direct link to the Photo Galery (bottom left)

The dragon isn't in bloom yet but some other parts are, go here for pictures of the opening that were released for the press (click the link underneath each picture for a high resolution one).

And for some early video... click me! remember the flower show isn't peaking yet -- and oh, you want a fast internet connection for this I think)
was that Kibbie I saw at the Dutch street organ? Some six minutes into the short movie (if you come that far) you will see it started snowing! On Easter!

Enjoy yourselves and meet me back at the gate around 5 o'clock, OK?
