Theory is in some circles, RAB is Siris Black's brother.

Yes, the ongoin theory is that R.A.B. is Regulus Black.
The new theory is that he's gotten his middle name from his Uncle Alphard.

He may have done it but he went out of his way not to allow Harry to come to any harm when he and Draco were fleeing. A wizard as talented and powerful as Snape could easily have countered Harry's curses with a curse of his own but he chose to block instead.

Yes, having read part of the thread at the NKT, I agree... I just couldn't believe he went all the way. I've always been willing to believe Snape was with Dumbledore, if only because Harry was SO certain that he was with Voldemorte.

JK Rowlings was saying it's been 15 years so far that she's been working on the series.

We may see a few visits to Hogwarts, but no... I can't see Harry, Ron or Hermione going back as students...

What I CAN see....Hermione becoming a Hogwarts professor.

yeah, me too.

15 years! and the 1st book came out in 1997ish didn't it! (started high school-UK highschool 12-16- then)
8 years ago.
So she started 7 yrs before they came out!

Actually, she's said one of the current students will someday teach at Hogwarts, but it won't be who we think (which pretty much nixes Hermione at the least.)

I thought that it was a ba thing to kill off Dumbledore, Snape is a big loser. I guess he didn't really have a choice in the end, what with his promise.

I don't like the books but I read them anyway. I nearly cried when Dumbledore died. But that may have just been the sad music on a movie playing while I was reading.

Yeah. As I believe, Snape is on nobody's side but his own. This is where many people are looking the wrong way. They're all looking for whether Snape is "good" or "evil". Not everything's black and white, especially in Potterverse. Just look at Slughorn. Is he evil? No. Does he have good intentions? Not really.

EXACTLY people! Snape is just a little greasy-haired man with a history of dark arts and poor social skills. It had to take a ton of courage to do the unspeakable. Remember that "look of intense hatred" on his face? He was furious at himself.

The latest theory is that RAB actually stands for something along the lines of "Read Again Backwards." It could be a hidden message.

u said people are crazy in the head but my friends love all the herry potter book that r out. every one in my family hate to read the books so we wait 4 the movie or DVD 2 come out so we can watch instead to read the books

I liked the first three, but the later ones are more than a little dissapointing, could I even say, soulless in places. Its as if emotions are on automatic.

in some ways I find it sad cos the series had so much promise!

I think he's great in book 6. In 5 yes, he was an adolescent emo idiot, but he definitely grows up in book 6.

How about number 7?

I reckon that harry will die. You can't have a "super-hero" without a "super-villain" and if she kills off Voldemort ( as she's almost bound to do) Harry's raison d'etre will have gone.

One question though. She's promised to write only seven HP books. How come the film compny have the rights to 10 films?

I wouldn't mind a book or three on the Marauders as students, how they became animagi, the whole James-Sirius-Snape-Lily thing, etc. I think JKR would do it well. If Anne McCafferey can do it, Jo certainly can.

As to the books - I haven't read any of them, but have enjoyed the movies for what they are - light entertainment with some interesting 'magic'!

why not give the books a try, and compare them to the movies. You may like them, more or less, and I always like comparing books to their movies, when I've enjoyed the movie. This time round, I am looking for Possession by Byatt, since I enjoyed the movie, the one with Gwyn-Gwyn.
