Default Dragonflight 2nd print?

I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out...I just picked up a copy of the 1968 walker Dragonflight. I found it buried in a pile of books at one of the strangest used bookstores i've ever been to. It has the price of $4.95 on the dust jacket and i can't find anything that would lead me to believe its a book club edition, if one was even produced. The odd thing is it doesn't state first edition. I'm guessing its a later printing.
Does anyone know how many printings of this book there were?

and thats it, no mention of first edition or what print, although it does have the same cover with the art by Lena Fong Lueg.
I would be grateful to anyone who can help enlighten me on this.
Thanks

Back then they didn't state that a book was a First Edition like they do now days. But you have a First edition. If it was a later printing of a book it would state that it was a later printing and the year giving the listing back to when the book was first printed.
Soooooo..................give the condition of the book and price paid (if you want, no pressure if you don't want to)!!! I can't wait to hear this!!! I know I'm gonna !!!

Yeah: back then they didn't know whether there would be any NEED for a second edition.

Like with a Monarch: you never get King Fred the First, they don't know if there'll ever BE a second King Fred. The 'First' appellation is added later when there's a second one.

Now, of course, the publishers KNOW that there'll be at least first and second edition hard backs, at least a first edition trade paperback AND at least first and second edition mass paperbacks.

P'ter, there's actually a trick to that

Last book by my boss I had printed 10,000 copies but 1,000 per printing edition. So got actually delivered the first printing (which it also said so and, btw, it always will even if there are "no seconds" ) and all the others at the same time. You do need to watch that you won't sell later printings before the first is sold out

Why? It looks more impressive!

Holy Cow... Congratulations....let me bet the first to
introduce you to the MoM book dance...

What a fantastic find Mike...no wonder your soooo in
love with real bookstores. Finding a truly wonderful
book is amazing, when you have just spent an hour or
two digging though a dark and dusty book store. Seems
the odder and older the store, the better the finds.
