My grand niece at her 1st birthday party, before eating (playing in) cake.

Newest family member. She just showed up and made herself at home. We think she was dumped off. She is very sweet.

Are people in the US dumping dogs too, come holiday season?

I am not sure why she was dumped. She is very sweet and acts like she has been an indoor dog.

I think a lot of people are out of work and can no longer afford to keep pets, so the dump them and hope that some one will take them in.

Great photos all around. The second photo of chocolate baby, her face has that look of "Who me?"

Our current dog wasn't dumped so to speak but must have been the runt of the litter and the owner didn't want her so we brought her home. There's a photo of her in the pet photo thread. Your poor beagle, at least she's found you and knows there's people who will love her.

Are you sure she is dumped then and not lost or ran away? Maybe there's somebody very anxious somewhere, hoping someone found the dog?

I put up posters all over Concord and check with the pound. No one has call, there has not been any lost dog adds in the paper either. If she is lost the owners are not trying to get her back.

Xena has made herself at home. She sleeps on the love seat. The other 2 dogs are being mean and won't play with her. Hubby's dog will look at Xena and turn her head away, snubbing her. When the other 2 dogs go out to play Xena will go out with them, but they ignore her. Two of the kittens will play with her. The other just give her a disgusted look. Xena ignores the cats for the most part.

And maybe I'm a bit more synical or not as big hearted as you, Maw, but I can't help but think the people who dumped Xena may just not have cared at all. She's very lucky to have found you.

A couple of the kitten will now play with Xena. Mouse and her are getting along very well.
