I think I might have reached one of my goals!

My site is the first real Pern fansite to come up on Google search (fourth place; the top three have nothing to do with "our" Pern but I only recently passed the index/info page to alt.fan.pern).
And in addition it seeems I come out on first place with Yahoo and MSN search.

Now this is wonderful but... although English is the language of my search engines the systems they use might still be looking where certain requests come from (i.e. from The Netherlands) and they might "mess" with serach results because of that.

So... I am asking your help. Please enter a search with the simple keyword: pern (I didn't even use a capital P) on Google, MSN and Yahoo and let me know in which place you saw/see "The Pern Museum and Archives" (www.pern.nl)?

I used dogpile.com (a search engine which combines the top results from Google, MSN, Yahoo and Ask) and you're #5, Hans.

Ok, Hans, your site came up first on Google, 3rd on Yahoo, and 12th on MSN.

Interesting side note - on Google the Archive is right above alt.fan.pern, while that site is 7th on Yahoo and not near the the top of page 2 on MSN. Though I found CHeryl's at 7 on MSN. hehe.
