Flowers!

(Yes, this was supposed to be posted last week. I blame my mom (she was here.) I've changed the dates of upcoming topics so they're the appropriate time after this one.)

This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
Where, where is the town
Now, it's nothing but flowers

OK. So it's my fault.
Want to see what Pam and I did on our vacation?

Sometimes, the smallest flowers are the most beautiful.

So many to chose from.... indeed *nods*

Two of my favourites:

Callistemon citrinus (lampenpoetser in Dutch, bottlebrush in English, Zylinderputzer in German), in my father-in-law's garden. The plant is originally Australian but performing well in Holland even if it doesn't reach the heights it does in its natural habitat.

A delicate, lonely geranium flower t the end of its life. It touches my soul...
Shot in my wifes garden, near the pond.

Sorry if these are a little big but they are so much more beautiful when shown in a decent size

Thanks for the link, Blondmom. I recognise several scenes as I also photographed them, a few days before you did! I was sorry to have missed you. It would have been wonderful to be able to meet you. But I got to understand I might be able to welcome you on my home turf in the future!

Too many to pick, but these are two of my favorites:

Boerner Botanical Gardens Milwaukee, WI

YES!!! I feel like a gag has been removed. Ahh I can talk again.
Thank you for changing the no chatting rule.

Ann Marie, I have (or had) those plants in my garden too.

Yes Hans, after looking at your lovely photos of Holland, I have put it on my list of places that I want to go.

There are bottlebrush bushes in California, and I remember being fascinated when I first saw them. I love the way you've shot it.

Pam, I didn't remember those daisies at Boerner. I went back and looked. I took a picture of Boris DeBehr in front of them. I always think it's amazing how you and I look at the same thing and sometimes see two different things.

Mom, the first one is a blueberry bush. The second is a white wood violet.

Okay, I finally have something on subject.

This was taken in my sister's yard.

I call this "Honeysuckle through Mnementh's eyes"

I actually have more flower pics I could post.

Same way I did this one, "Ramoth's flower."

Very funny Draco...

Where does that alien spaceship come from that's hiding among the flowers in the first pic?

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

First things first: The prism effect is done with a filter I bought for my Canon EF, a 1970s 35mm "automatic" camera. It used the same FD lenses that the A-1, AE-1, and a lot of other Canon models used. It was stolen, but I still had the filter, and used it on my A-1, one of the last times I shot 35mm film.

The alien spaceship is an American fire plug, repainted and used as a centerpiece in that flower bed. My sister's husband is a volunteer fireman.

So many photos, so hard to choose, so these are a couple of my most recent ones which I don't think I've posted here before.

A lovely set of flower photos we've got here! I think my favorite is Hans's second one, and a multi-way tie for second with all the butterfly ones. I need to assemble a set of butterfly photos soon, I have bunches from this year!
