Cheryl, OH sorry...I thought you were looking at libraries that could be on Pern.
If its for the MoM...then I would vote for the Bodleian at Oxford...in my opinion it would fit in the MoM HQ's very well indeed...with plenty of room for lots and lots of books...and places to sit about and read them. Plus the ceiling could be painted with all the Hold , Craft and Weyr colors...making it very beautiful indeed.

P.S. We might want to think about starting a thread where people could post thier drawings, sketches or plans of what they think the MoM HQ might really looks like...inside and out!!! Sounds like it would be a lot of fun..and a great way to spend the winter...Playing the HQ game

Sounds like a good idea but my contributions will probably be restricted to "ooo" and "ahh" and maybe an occasional lame rhyme. I'd really like to see what our more artistic members come up with, though!

Just as long as it doesn't turn into a bookcase...other wise we'd never be able to find it!

Well if it did turn into a bookcase... then perhaps each book would open up a different room. ..but it would still have to be a fairly lage book case/room to hold all the different books. Boy this does make the mind wander with all the different possibilities

Well, we already have that. When we open one of Anne's books we're transported to Pern or Ballybran or Petabee or elsewhere. It's wonderful, isn't it?

I think I'll go to Pern & talk to the dophins there. I've alway wanted to take a swim with dolphins.

I would not mind meeting a dragon or two along the way. I hope Flitter dowesn't fly off.

Cookies....yummy...

If I didn't have so much school work to do, I could make a lovely apple crisp to share with everyone. Maybe one day in the future, and in a few more weeks I'll legally be able to join in the drinks that every one loves sharing around here...

The apple crisp sounds yummy! And as long as you confine it to the MoM HQ, I don't see why you can't have whatever you like. It's part of the magic of this place. No one ever leaves drunk or suffers hangovers. (But do take care of your school work first!)

Ahhhh, found that comfy chair in the corner and am putting my feet up. Those cookies and bubbly pies sound delicious. So does the apple crisp. Funny, I don't like apple pie, but will eat crisp anytime. I think I would like a nice cold glass of milk with that and then maybe a quick nap. Just the place to do it.

What's really good with warm apple crisp is vanilla ice cream on top of it....

I might actually have to make one in the near future.

Reading in a nice comfortable spot sounds lovely. Although, I cannot read for pleasure at this moment even though it would be very relaxing. Instead, I'll be in a corner reading a play for my Quebec Theatre class, or perhaps some other textbook. Either way, as long as I'm comfortable, life is good.

I guess I have to let go of real life a little more when I visit here...

Although, the play I'm currently reading for the Quebec Theatre Class, Hamlet, le Prince du Quebec, is actually quite interesting. It takes the plot of Shakespeare's Hamlet, but it transforms into a play about many of the political issues of Quebec.

Perhaps, at my next opportunity, I'll curl up with a Pern novel or my well read copy of the complete works of Jane Austen.
