Cherlyn, I'll get Earth Prime to 'port you a thermos of rocksquat soup and fresh-made rolls from Botany as soon as they're ready! That should make you feel better.

Well, Hans, er, I mean Earth Prime, if you are going to send some stuff to Cherlyn, you could send some to me as well. The same as she is getting sounds fine. But I am not in the back room coughing, I am just by the fireplace and hungry.

Dear, dear L'isa. I can port a long way, but from Rotterdam to Paradise...

If you are in our virtual Amsterdam office, no problem! I'll port some rolls

I've also brought along a dish of stewed orange and green milsi stalks and sauteed steakbeans with a nice tray of sliced gorupears, redfruit and cheeses. And, of course, for afters there's bubbly pies and assorted cakes.

Awwww. It's so sweet when children share! Probably a touch of the viral influence. Go easy on the fellis, though. Just a few drops in some nice mulled wine should do the trick. I'm beginning to wonder if we should set aside a nice sunny room for a Healer Hall.

Too early in the morning for wine here....I just need Tea. Earl Grey, hot.

It's that time of year...Santa Claus Parade season!! Today I'm an extra in the Peanut's Gang in my home town, then next Sun I'm Lucy in an adjoining town!! But this waking up at 4 am is not easy!!

....and it's gonna be COLD, with a high of 4 Celcius!! I'll be up on a float, NOT walking the route, so it will be that much chillier.

So I'm hoping for a spot close to the fire, and lots of Hot Tea when I get back!!

Thanks Hans! I am better at the mechanical end of things rather than a talent for food, drink, and people!
I am feeling much better. Got the cold under control then ended up on antibiotics for a sinus and ear infection and to top that all off I had a bad tooth trying to abscess so I was not a happy camper this weekend!
Feeling better now and ready to cook! Everyone is invited to a virtual feast! I'll get the basics going and everyone can bring their favorites too !

Master Elrhan, Thank you my friend...I just found this post with the fantastic links in it....I have been sitting her for over an hour with tears of joy welling up in my eyes. A ROOM....a whole ROOM FULL of REMBRANDTS my mind just won't take it all in...I know why they have those huge couches in the rooms...its for people like me who become so over whelmed with the proximity of such greatness all in one ROOOOOM that they must sit or collapse onto them. I just had no idea...not really...other than you telling me, and me thinking it was more your own pride in your countrys acheivements, that you thought I should see it. I WAS SOOOOOOOO WRONG....it was not only your much deserved pride...but and understatement of granduer, for who could put into words all of what is hanging on those incredible walls....sigh!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you....what a gift for my holiday....thank you so much for linking that here...as you know me, I might never have found that site...............

I just wish I could take you by the hand and show you around some of our museums, I really do...

What you would also love is the Mauritshuis in The Hague. It has two of my favourite paintings:

View at Delft by Vermeer and The Bull by Potter.
They are on the middle row (extreme left and extreme right) on this page: http://www.mauritshuis.nl/index.aspx?ChapterID=1162

I do invite you to go look, even if this relatively small museum apparently has no English pages.

I want you to note the size of The Bull...
yes that's 235,5 x 339 centimeters
as in 7,7 feet x 11,12 feet

The View on Delft you will never understand how glorious and extremely good and beautiful this picture is unless you behold it with your own eyes, in daylight. There's not a photographer in the world who can do it justice. I'm sorry but you'll have to believe me.

Hans, Thank you so much for showing me the Mauritshuis, and for sharing your two favorite paintings. Johannes vermeer's *Gezicht op Delft*...this is an exquisitly beautiful landscape painting expertly showing the period and the style of a true Master artist and painter. Paulus Potter's *De Steir*. is also an unbelivably beautiful painting of Dutch farm animals...the bulls are so real looking that you feel you can see the them breathe, the farmer is all very well painted.
For me the painting of *Meisje met de Parel*, (Girl with a Pearl Earring)is one of my very favortie portraits from any time or Master, Johannes Vermeer, is in my opinion, one of the greatest Master painters of all time along with for me Rembrandt, Michealangelo and De Vinci. I have many, many favorites in each style, medium and time period but always find myself going back to the these Great Masters of Art when I really want to study and learn. Like Van Gogh said at one point, I also could sit for years, just to look at some of them...

It does go a long way to prove what you have told me before..if you want to see lovely Great Masterpieces, you have to visit the Dutch Musems of Art. Now I certainly do know what you mean...and it is on the schedule now for our next planned trip to Europe.

Ahhhh, the peace and quiet is so nice after the afternoon activities today. Such a nice place to relax!!! I think I will just find a quiet corner to nap the evening away. Whew.
