Forum spam issues

For several weeks now this forum has been subjected to a spam campaign. Luckily due to previously implemented security measures, none of the spam posts have gone live to members, but there's been a lot of administrative hassle involved with banning users accounts created by the spammer, deleting posts caught in the moderation queue, and deleting spam email received through the "contact us" form.

As a result, for now, new member enrollment is disabled and the Contact Us form is disabled as well.

If you have an issue or are a prospective new member who'd like to join, just send me an email to cheryl at srellim dot org
and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I hope in time the spammer will lose interest and I can re-enable registration and contact. Else I will find a different work around, probably with a different human verification system.

New user registration is open and the Contact Us for is enabled, and the spammer seems to have lost interest.

However, new members are still always dropped into automatic moderation of their posts until I notice and approve them. I don't check for new users/posts as often as I used to, as the forum is really sleepy these days. To get approved faster, just drop me an email or use the Contact Us form, and let me know you're here!
