blue & green stars

Not a bad idea but that would limit us to Pern. I'm trying to think of something not too busy to reproduce that would encompass most if not all Anne's other works. It's a conundrum.

My mind's eye sees a variation on the arms of St Edward the Confessor:

"Argent, a cross noir, 5 dragons proper" (the original has 5 gold martlets).

So: a blue flag for Pern; a black St George's cross for Between, with five dragons on it (one of each main colour), the gold in the centre of course.

If you want to know how I know it: one of my ancestors was granted the right to use it in his lifetime.

How about this across the top an out line of a dragon, spaceship, pegasus & patabe the rest of the flag can have stars in glold, bronz, brown blue, green
& one whit one in the middle.

or do you think that would be to busy. I like the idea of stars because they could not only represent the dragons but space as well.
Also in I think Dragonheart it was said each star was a dragon who had died.

There does not need to be alot of stars and the picture across the top doesn't have to have alot of details just a realy good out line.

The other day I made a post for this thread that just vanished into cyberspace. I think the ideas so far sound fantastic but very difficult to create. How about something simple and definitive?

Centered on a rich blue field, letters in gold:

Some sort of symbology would be nice too, perhaps not representing all of Anne's worlds, but getting the basic idea across. A dragon and spaceship might do it.

The original I was thinking of is the left hand half of the image below.

These are the arms of Dickie the Feline Pump so the cross is fleury & gold.

I was remembering the family version with the cross was plain & black.

I like most of them, but the last one best. But with the dragon not centered and the ship more next to it rather than shoved aside. And a bit more Western style for the dragon.

Great job Hans!! Like many others I really like the last one the best....sweet and simple, but gets the point across!!

I too would prefer a more Western dragon....Michael Whelan's being my vision of Anne's dragons!!

I LOVE the last flag !!! That one is just beautiful...and I think it is just fine the way it is...as the flight stream behind the ship somewhat centers it with the Dragon. Like I said I LOVE IT...just the way it is.

To me the Dragon symbolizes all of the Pern and the romantic adventure stories, and the ship symbolizes all the rest of the space type adventure stories...so with this flag it incompases all of them nicely and neatly.

I wasn't going to do anything fancy just an iron on or something. I don't realy have the money for any thing else. I'm not sure how long something like that would take to realy do right and Dragoncon is only about 93 day away.
