Default Voices of Dragons by Carrie Vaughn

I discovered this book about a year ago and finally got around to reading it.

And, I LOVE it!!! My new #1 favorite. It's been so long since I've read a book that I had to force myself to put down (after reading about 5 chapters). I think the last books I read like this were Anne McCaffrey's Harper Hall books.

There's no end of books about dragons in medieval setting. I've read books about dragons (or dragon-like aliens) in futuristic settings--in fact, I'm writing a series about that. But, I don't think I ever seen, or heard of, a book that places dragons in a modern-day setting. So, Carrie really is flying in unexplored skies.

And, that's part of what makes the book so thrilling. That, and the forbidden friendship story. Kind of like the movie version of How to Train Your Dragon.

Has anyone else read this book?
Friendship is powerful. It spans great distances and endures adversity.

I haven't read it...but it sure sounds good from the *Fantastic Fiction* page and with your *LOVE IT* comments, I might just have to give it a try in the near future.

Who needs *Goodreads* when we have MoM!?!
"To the Horsehead Nebula and back we shall make beautiful music"..."Together!"

The stories of childhood leave an indelible impression, and their author always has a niche in the temple of memory from which the image is never cut out to be thrown on the rubbish heap of things that are outgrown and outlived........Howard Pyle
