Xmen3 of course!

and

Over the Hedge (even though the trailer wasn't that good, but hey, I'm a fan of Over the Hedge.)

I'm curious about seeing Da Vinci Code (, even though I found the book to be of very questionable quality.)

The X-Men movie here too, and like Monkey Narnia, don't feel bad Monkey, I haven't gotten seen it either. I don't go to movie theater anymore, it is to full of noise for me to enjoy the movie. I wait untill it is on the Sat. Dish. so that my husband and I can enjoy it completly by ourselves. Then if we like it we go and buy it.

PERN!!!
Same list for me, and add Superman Returns & Ice Age2 (which I have to wait for DVD to see it). Except for the wishful thinkings, this year promises to be a good year for flics

The trailers for X3 already show that's going to be one major kick-ass movie -- I'm betting that Magneto and Jean Grey are going to tussle & I feel a great swell of pitty for anyone and anything that gets between them

CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow!!!! The best part is that there is another movie coming in addition to the one due out in June! Yahooo!!!!

And of course the desire for Pern on the big screen, tho we came so close to getting to see Pern weekly a few years ago. Oh, how I was eagerly awaiting Dragonriders of Pern on TV!!!!! I got lucky and won one of the cells the developers gave away. Really interesting scenery they did.

The next Harry Potter movie for me too. Never ready the books, only seen the movies. One day I'll have to breakdown and read them.

To Coelura1, well, the Harry Potter books have a lot more info than what the movies present. I've found that having read the books than watching the movies helps to see into the whole phenoma of Harry and company. The 3 kids who play Harry, Hermoine and Ron, really helped with what they would look like in real life. Kind of like when we were all discussing who our favourite actors would take on which character in the Dragonriders of Pern series. I think most of us agreed on who would be the best for that when "heavens forbid", Pern comes out. I would love to see that too and the rest of Narnia movies as well. I only agreed about the HP movies coz it has dragons in it too and I LOOOOVVVVE dragons.

Jube,

I have read books in the past and then seen the movies later and been very disappointed in the movie. (which is why I'm not too excited about Pern on the big screen, at least with TV you'd get more from the books, tho don't get me wrong I'd take a movie of Pern!) Back to HP - If I see the movies first then read the books maybe I won't be so disappointed.

didn't think much of Narnia- felt wrong. I had to explain stuff that's very clear in the books-like the deep magic and the deeper magic- to the kids I was babysitting, and the battle with makes up a tiny fraction of the book took higher priority than the bits with Aslan!
oh well... rant over!
Film wise- I'm not sure, I haven't heard of anything that really appeals to me yet! I'm v picky and I get bored quickly, I'll see pirates of the carribean- Nick saw the 1st one far too often!-but apart from that so far this year I haven't been to the cinema. Was going to see V for Vendetta but it finished before we could- there are 2 cinemas in aber- both have 1 screen, and it finished in Shrewsbury before the easter holidays.

"Flags of our Fathers" directed by Clint Eastwood. This is the story of the TWO flag raisings at Mt. Suribuchi on Iwo Jima during WW2. And he got permission to film it at Mt. Suribuchi which is usually just about impossible since Japan considers the entire island a war memorial.

Pirates of the Carribean--I'm not overly anxious, but it IS on my list.

I'm not overly excited about it. In fact, at the moment, I'm biting my nails in the fear that someone is going to decide to tweak something in the wrong way and the movie won't feel right.

I think I'll wait until a little more details are released before before I really begin waiting for it...

Me too TamTam. The title has already become a part of our family lexicon as a zen phrase meaning "What are you gonna do, sh*t happens", thanks to the blog entry found here. ( Mucho cursing in the blog, beware if you are sensitive.)

I need to go buy the Narnia dvd as I haven't seen it yet; if I like it then I'll be anticipating the rest.

Rest of the Potter films.

Next Pirates of the Carribean.

Pern, if it's ever done....

Actually I liked the way they executed it with the war and Aslan. In the book, Aslan didn't really seem to be characterized (that's not quite the right word) as well as I would have liked. It seemed to be "Well he's pretty much the GOD of Narnia, so that's good enough!" I don't know... but I think the Movie Narnia is flawless, he fits and flows perfectly with the story, and I much preferred the extended War scene, it was the perfect culmination of the movie, very satisfying, whereas in the book, it's basically passed over completely except for the aftermath.

But what DID bother me was the tweaks in the story, other than the wolves at the river, I really liked that one.

What I disliked the most about Narnia was that they didn't show the witch turning the family into stone in the woods; also, the phrase was never spoken, "He's not a tame lion."

Well the Pirates of Carribean of course

I did see The Producers at the cinema when it screened here, can't wait for it to come out on DVD....... it was hilarious........... laughed so much I nearly peed myself

Although I have to wonder how many of the younger generation would get the jokes??? For example, the crazy german with the pigeons (masterfully played by Will Ferrell, who is not among my favourite actors but he was so great in that role ) and then the casting scene where they are trying to cast the part of 'Hitler' and they do the german band bit, so funny!!!!

New Star Trek movie??? Tell me more!!! I thought they were more or less dropping the Star Trek stuff .......

And I wouldn't go even if I got tickets for free; I'm thoroughly fed up with Brown and all that has to do with the stupid book. A book, who'se story I already read decades ago and of which a whole lot of people now suddenly think might be true because of a silly novel.

I' waiting, but not long anymore, for Tristan & Isolde, a movie that my love expressed she would like to see with me
