This upset me. A lot. More than it should upset a normal person.

Here's to Ms. Sladen, who without knowing it was a rather big part of my life, and a big part of the relationship I have/had with my father.

She was my favorite of all the companions. I especially liked her interactions with Harry. I'm really saddened to hear this and my heart goes out to her family.

And probably one of the most popular companions She was the only one to receive a side-line show - other then Torchwood - to the Doctor Who series so plaudits to her for doing so. She'll be missed

63? That's much too early. She will be fondly remembered.

Apparently, she's been very ill for some time but it was kept under wraps (even the SJA production team was largely in the dark about how serious it was.)

For the most heartbreaking tribute I've seen thus far, go to http://www.dorktower.com for John Kovalic's memorial cartoon today. Saddest one he has ever done. Especially for those of us who grew up with K9.

Ow ow ow. I wept buckets when she reappeared in the new series, tears of delight at seeing her again. As usual, she did a splendid job and - wow! - outshone David Tennant! I was so pleased that they gave her a series of her own. Better late than never! 63 is too darn young, indeed, Hans. Blessings on her soul, and all sympathy to her family and friends. We'll miss her. And thanks for the links, Anareth, that cartoon was - superb.

Looks like Sarah Jane went on a trip to a place the TARDIS couldn't get to. Her final adventure. ^;_;^

Gawd, I wish I had some rum left. I'd lift a glass to Elisabeth Sladen, one of sci-fi's most-appreciated stars in one of the most popular shows ever.

I hope her family, real and fictional, will be okay.

Such sad news. She was only 63 and she looked so much younger. The series with Tom Baker's doctor, Sarah-Jane and Harry is probably my favourite.
