Updated Poll: Radiant Fluid Colour - A Meeting of Minds

The previous Thread for the colour of radiant fluid had a surprise entry for yellow (or gold) which wasn't fairly represented in the poll list. So here it is again:

What colour do you imagine radiant fluid to be? In my mind it has always been kind of a pinky/Pepto-Bismol kind of colour, but I would be interested in knowing what you guys thinkg!!

I still wonder how Anne imagined radiant fluid when she was writing...

Just did my re-vote for yellow.

That color just always comes to my mind when reading. Hmmm, I think I'll go ask Anne. Then let you know.

I'm gonna post this in both Radiant Fluid threads, just so everyone gets a chance to see it.

I emailed Anne asking her what color the fluid was to her. Yes, I did say that my favorite was a golden color.

But here's HER reply......

"Some sort of a vivid sea green, like apple green or the green of cat eyes. I don't think I ever specified now that you mention it."

There's your answer!!!

Personally I thought of it more as a translucent pink, with bubbles to it, (not bubble bath bubbles, but the kind you see in an undiluted soap)

I thought it was a clear, uncolored, thick fluid. Buble is a good add to the picture

I have no memories of a color mention in the books. Clear fits more something related to health and cure to me. Most of modern medecine in hospitals are quite uncolored nowadays. It has been a while since my last reading though.

I though I'd replied here, but maybe it was another thread. I always thought neon green, probably because "radiant fluid" makes me think of "radiator fluid". That said, the consistency in my mind was something like slightly pearly hand-lotion.

(I bet those of you who thought yellow/gold were thinking radiant sounds like sunshine)

I for one always assumed radiant fluid was this clear/transparent liquid with an oatmeal type appearance and texture. I don’t recall the color ever being mentioned in the books… though this post makes me want to reread them and see if one is mentioned because Crystal Singer is one of my favorite series after Pern.

This would be a good Quest question

I definitely see it as bluey green, but with a sort of mother-of-pearl shine to it. Anne's said it's viscous, but for me it's more like maple syrup (I bet that's where the golden/yellow for many came from!) rather than molasses.

Since she never specified in the books...I always thought of it as more clear/translucent than anything. I thought it didn't actually really have a color at all.
