What color dragon would you ride?

As pompous as this may sound...I may roll with gold. I may like to lay back and relax a lot, but when I have a duty to attend to, I always hop to it and try to excell at it. I may not be talkative, and am definitely not flirtacious, determined to find a soulmate that I can share the rest of my life with. I'll pursue something and am not afraid to express myself, and am not afraid to stand up for myself or somebody else. I tend to try to be a smartpants, too...

I voted brown, as the only thing I'm likely to impress is a block of wood. At least they're good for keeping doors open, and you can impress the ladies with them. (Think: so, would you like to come back to my pad, and look at my blocks of wood?)

I may be sounding greedy, but I'd LOVE white! I prefer the little small ones, and they're just so darn clever

Otherwise, according to my personality I think I'd most likely Impress either blue or brown. But I'd be overwhemed with ANY dragon

Whites are definitely my kind of dragon. First off, I'd like to avoid the whole mating ordeal altogether, and an infertile white is perfect for that (no greens for me). Second, they eat less since they're smaller, and they (just Ruth?) are very similar to my personality. And I adore albinos.

Gold. I'm a type-A control freak and a detail freak to boot. Plus I tend to resent female authority and so wouldn't deal well with gold riders if I were stuck on green. I'm generally not satisfied with anything unless I did it, though when it comes to some things I'm happy to delegate. Just as long as I know it's getting done right.

I voted "Gold", but it would probably be a very junior Gold. One that had little if any chance (unless all the other Golds died or transfered to another Weyr!) of becoming a Weyr "Senior" Queen.

I think one of the lesser colours prob green as I'm female,

mainly since specially late 9th pass you'll have a chance todo your own thing.

(Not astronomy thank you- planets are a dirty word to me at the mo!)

If the canonical gender choice of the dragons were considered, I'd probably be a greenrider. I don't really think I'm gold material. Too much in the back of the way usually to be such a rider.

But if we stripped such away, maybe a brown. Maybe.

Has anyone considered making a personality quiz for this? Those are fun to take.

There is an offline fanfiction Weyr that uses silver dragons, which mate only to white dragons. But Anne's never used silver and I think it's safe to say she never will!

on the silver frnt, you might get a silvery gold- a very pale gold but possibly not. I know golds vary in colour from green-gold (mentioned in Moreta I think) to almost bronze (Orlith). P'raps you could get a very pale gold.

About silver dragons, it just doesn't work genetically. Ruth was the result of a recessive gene, purposed as countermeasures to prevent any mutations or defective offspring from hatching, and the particular rare combination of genes not only created the thick shell to prevent hatching, but limited the production of colors within the skin, so that only the base layer of white can be seen. So it's not a new color really, just the lack of it. Silver is another matter entirely, that WOULD be a new color, which does not fit at all within Pernese draconic genetics. It would be entirely outside the boundaries.

just going to correct you on 1 point-Ruth isn't a LACK of colour, he's tinted with all colours if you look at twd, where N'ton and Jaxom are washing him.

It's still a matter of interpretation. To me if he were truly all colors, then his hide would be a mottled mess of all colors and not white at all. I see Ruth as generally lacking in color, with faint bits of tints/highlights in places which is what N'ton remarks upon.
