My hubby and I just spent the weekend in Washington, DC. We found a great bookstore on DuPont Circle called Second Story Books and they have a warehouse in Rockville, Maryland. I didn't find much in the way of Anne at the bookstore in DC. They had lots of other collectables (original printings of Winnie the Pooh in Russian and that kind of thing) at the bookstore. It was very expensive and while we did get a few things, most of the items were out of our price range.
When we got to the warehouse though, we hit pay dirt so to speak!! This place was amazing. We got two boxes overflowing with books, in a mix of hard and soft cover. Some first additions, some just slightly rare, and some just old. As it was their 40th anniversary they were having a 40% off sale. As I was looking through one of the many Sci-Fi sections, I found a copy of "Dragons" by Anne and Richard Woods with illustrations by John Howe. I didn't really look at the writing on the cover so I didn't notice that it wasn't English! When I opened the book and tried to read it, THAT was when I noticed it was in French. Of course I got the book (they had priced it at only $15 so it was worth it!). So now I have this lovely book that I can't read a word of!! LOL If anyone either lives in the area or is going through the area you really need to check these places out. Their website is www.secondstorybooks.com
