Neat pic! It's been great looking at Venus so closely and I enjoyed it in November (or so) when Jupiter was also in line with the moon and Venus.

Thank you Old WOlf...thats a lovely photo. That is probably my most favorite night and early morning scene. I didn't know what I was looking at until Steven told me...and showed me where and when to look for it.
Thank you again Steven, for putting a name to my star for me.

OldWolf...I will greatly enjoy the photos...but, most all of what you wrote before that was in an alien language to me...and didn't understand a word of it. I do think you and Steven probably talk the same language though...10"Newt and a Slooh [goes of scratching her head, wondering what the heck a Slooh is]................

I found a neat site that helps those of us who are slightly 'star' challenged.

http://www.earthsky.org/

Great site and super folks who reply so quick to questions! I asked them about the alignment of the moon, Venus and Jupiter. Just had to confirm my guess as to what planets I was seeing.
My biggest and best find was that they have a meteor schedule! I love to watch meteor showers and knew of two annual ones but found there are more! So I'll be a busy girl this year!

Becky...that is a fantastic site...thank you for sharing it. I will have to go and ask a few of my own questions, about my night sky. I love looking up and knowing a bit of what I'm looking at.

Ok Slooh is www.slooh.com, it is 2 (soon to be 3) remotely controlled Observatories currently in The Canaries for the Northern Skies & Chile for the southern Skies , Slooh is working on a Oz Observatory right now where members get to log missions and take images for themselves and have pre-selected missions available all for $50 a year currently

I by 10"Newt Oldwolf means a 10 inch Newtonian Telescope and "goto" is a computer control feature which lets you tell the telescope what you would like to look at and it points in the right direction for you.

Oldwolf, why not include some photographs of your telescopes as well, then we can see what they are.
