I'm just reading that book again, I havn't read it for 6 years, and there is so much I didn't remember, it shows how you have to keep reading a book more than once, or you'll forget!!!
I can't believe I forgot everything that happened while she was on Erehwon, like her having kids!!! I can't even remember how it ends

Well, as you're rereading it I won't spoil it for you

Did you enjoy this book - would you have liked a sequel?

I loved it, I think a sequel would have been great, cause I want to know how they'd have sorted out how Nimisha's daughter was to run the ship yard when she didn't want to leave her mother...and all those other confusing points!

There's been a rumor about for a few years, started by Todd at Dragon*Con in 2002, that there will be a sequel, co-written by Anne and Todd. Whether we'll see this book or not... who knows

I'm going to get back around to reading it again too one of these days...think I still remember a lot, when something jogs my memory, but not everything.

yeah, it gets to a full time job trying to remember all the books you've read and re-read...doesn't leave much room for more! some books of McCaffreys I've read 4 times and still want to read again!

I know that feeling, Dragonqueen! I've got books that I've probably read SIX times, and I would still go back and read them again. I think before my collection got as large as it is, I used to reread even more often than that.

I start re-reading them every year.. I start durying my X-mas break and keep on until I'm done.. one series after another... and some of those books I've had for 25 years or more... The fun part is.. is that each time I re-read I STILL find new things I didn't catch before... And I STILL cry everytime I read the part where The MasterHarper dies....

with all the book's Anne McCaffrey's written, I could never read even the good ones once a year! I think her best were Dragonsong and Dragonsinger-harper of Pern, I alway have tears running down my face with laughter at the end of Dragonsong, even though I know what's going to happen

I finished it during dinner last night. Now I've started a popular (ie. no referencing) book on the Spear of Longinus. I should finish that tonight.

Was just reading this thread again...I finally did get started on Nimisha's ship, over a month after planning to! I'm tempted to skip ahead to the part with her on Erewhon, but I won't. Cause then I'll just have to go back and fill in the blanks.

Stick with it,Tresa, I really enjoyed the book and wish there were more!
It is listed as being part of a series called 'Body Heirs' with 'The Coelura' as the other one!
I'm ever hopeful that Anne will start on more books in this new world she's started!

Oh I will. And I'm hoping I'll come across another copy of Coelura...missed my chance last time I saw it. Yeah, I wish there were at least one more book in the series. It just feels incomplete.

I have 3 coeluras, I tend to run into them a lot at bookfairs. Though at a bookfair that lasts more than a day, you have to get the Anne McCaffrey books that you want on the first day(Who would have thought. lol). But I like how it was tied in with Nimisha's Ship. Though if there will be a next book I want to know more about the aliens who were also stranded on Erehwon. I still smile when I remember the first contact.

I think I've got my next collecting highlight now! I have several Coelura's too and some that haven't been seen by a lot of folks.
I will say that my screen name may be part of the reason for Nimisha's Ship came to be published. (I've always felt so anyway) I started the Anne McCaffrey Reading Group on AOL back in 1997 with the screen name of Coelura and we had Anne join us for a chat! She talked about our screen names and when it came to me she told us that she had a book gathering dust on a shelf that went along with The Coelura. That she was thinking of finishing it off and getting it published. Then in 1999 we had Nimisha's Ship! So I like to think I had some part of getting a book published.

This is my favorite book. I really wish Anne would write a sequel. I would love to know the source of the ion trails they found and I also want to Nimisha's half brother and his mother proven to be behind the attacks on Nimisha's daughter. And the things others here have mentioned, too. I guess I'll be surprised if she ever writes a sequel, but I still wish she would.

Kevia, Well at least you have this one to enjoy, as often as you wish to. I don't think she has mentioned any plans to write any more of the Coelura stories...but you can always hope, just like I do for more *Ship* stories.

This book has been one of my favorites and I could never believe that Anne didn't write a sequel! I'm so intrigued by the snobby society and the way Nimi breaks away from it, yet is still compelled by tradition to give her daughter a formal Necklacing. One book just isn't enough for Nimisha's world!!
