Default Romance printings

I have noticed that a number of the romances that are out of print (at least in England) are actually around in large print editions for the hard of sight.

Our library has 'Ring of Fear', 'Mark of Merlin' and 'Kilternan Legacy' all printed by Curley.

Are these collectable too?

Sure, everything is collectible! I just becomes a question of whether you want to work on a certain class of items (like large print, or audio editions, or etc) for your collection.

As to whether it would hold and/or build value as a collectible.... I would think it would be less likely too, but then I've never tried tracking the large print market.

And on a side note, several of the romances are currently being reissued in the US by Wildside Press, including the three you mentioned as I recall.

It would be great to know how many of Anne's books have been done in Large Print. I'd love to have them to read as my eyes get worse as I get older. I'll probably have to go to tape or cd eventually, tho that's not for years (I hope!).

I also think they're collectible, in the sense that they are a different type of edition. People collect different things so why not large print? Value probably won't ever be great but it would certainly round out a collection.

The ones I've seen are by "Curley Large Print" of Hampton, New Hampshire.
Being mainly for the library trade they are hardback, with totally different jackets to any other editions I've come across.

I don't know if they would ever appear on e-bay. Since I don't have (or want) a credit card I can't see the point of going to see.

P'ter, Never thought of getting any of the large print copies, but with my eyes perhaps I should consider it ??? Thanks for putting the question up for thought.

I have found that I also have got a few covers now that I can't speak the language of either, but the covers are just to great to pass up. Especially with a favorite story collection.

Hmm, if that makes her laugh at you she could have a ball at my house
Even though I can read a few languages I also have books I can't... teh Czech ones for instance, but the cover art alone make them worth owning.
Now what is really silly is buying three nearly the same copies of one Harper Hall title just because the lettering on the cover is different...

Hmmm, I don't buy them for different lettering, but it one with different letting comes thru my hands it generally stays there...
