Default the Pernicious influence of facebook . .

I've got so used to facebook that I find myself hitting the 'return' key when I want to post a message on here.

(Just done it again!!! )

Know what you mean. Especially since I quit posting on the NKT, I hit the enter key here, then I realize it and go to the bottom and hit submit.

I wish you could use enter on Facebook to start a new paragraph when replying in a post.

Perhaps it's because I'm left handed: my right hand isn't clever enough.

Left handed here as well, though only sometimes in my "right mind!"

Pretty sure there is a tick box on your facebook that allows you to turn off the "Hit Enter to Post" option.

If that option isn't there you can always use Shift+Enter to move down a line without posting.

For a non-user like myself, the pernicious (!) use of FB simply means the death of bboards like this one...

Not necessarily, it's just a matter of wanting to have two separate aspects and coming into places like this as a way to have a more rounded experience.

I haven't let the fact that a lot of the things I'm interested in having their own FB Page let me forget that there is another community like this out there, and still maintain myself actively on several Forums like this despite the fact that there are FB Pages out there for them as well.

True, but you're one of the few who do. At least 5 boards I was an active member at have either petered out or simply shut down because most members preferred to hang out on FB. But those boards were never very big in the first place, with less than 100 active members at their peak.

Interestingly, Manor of Speaking changed to Facebook and has changed back again.

AMOS has been around for a few years, though I will admit I haven't been in there in a while I'm still a Member there if memory serves.

I miss the Pernese Friends and BPOI Forums, though I do understand why they folded.

Wolfegar's Forum is less active these days and I have noticed that someone has been Spamming through the PM system there in the last couple of weeks.
