The absolutely best sunset I ever saw was leaving Venice, Italy. Alas I had no film.

Both from my house, as it's where I get the most spectacular ones (hoping I haven't posted these before)

Sunrise

Sunset

Hello everyone!! I haven't posted much this year because I’ve been crazy busy with graduate school… however I did want to take the time to share these photos with you. They were taken at the end of May, during my Tropical Islands class trip to Andros, Bahamas. We stayed at the Forfar Biological Field Station.

Sunrise - Our last morning at the station.

Sunset - This is the only sunset we saw during our stay on the island. The station's locale made it impossible for us to see any sunsets, plenty of beautiful sunrises though!!

Sunsets (and -rises) are often spectacular photogenic moments and, if I look around me on Flickr, actuaklly one of the most popular and most photographed phenomena

Posted here are some very good examples. I think Pam's are -- in my eyes -- the most spectacular. We don't have that kind of red in my country. I've seen some of Pam's sunsets pictures from close to her home before and they keep surprising me! I hope to see some myself later this year!

Nice shots everyone!

My favorite is unicorntig's second pic. There's something about it that's just really awesome to me.

Thanks! It's really easy to take good pictures when you get skies like these. I quite literally have thousands of pictures of the sunsets at my house. The good ones generally happen Nov to April, but there have been some decent ones in the earlier fall

Thanks Pam!! It was an awesome sunset to behold, especially with how everything was reflected in the water. I'll have to do another picture thread from my trip (like I did with my cruise) for everyone to see.

I'd have to say that my favorite is your second picture. I've always loved horses and its amazing how the trees are situated in the background. The whole picture silhouettes the horse perfectly in my opinion and the red skies give it a magical feel.

HAHA and I have to agree with Hans… we don't have those kind of red skies where I live either.
