I'm not much of a cook, but every once in a while I come up with something good. I've been reading the Petaybee series and I got on a bit of a survival kick. For instance, if I could make something from nothing I would be in great shape in Kilcoole. Who knows, maybe there are dishes we've made that were inspired by Anne's books. Perhaps you just have something interesting to share... please do!

Uh....I'll take requests, but I'm a professional cook. If people want recipes they're gonna have to be more specific. Otherwise I could be typing a lot.

Hmmm, lets see... anything you've made that reminded you of something people might have had on Pern? I know it's a long shot. It might mean going back to the basics in farming here, but I thought I'd try. Hearty stews or a blurry drink? Heck, the cake artwork was an inspiration of sorts too.
I have a habit of being too general, I know.

Heh, yeah... I've always pretended Hostess pies were bubbly pies - they're small, can be held in the hand if yoiu're careful, and bubbling hot!

I'm waiting for the sprng market to come to the CornMarket square in derby so I can buy some water-buffalo to try a herdbeast stew...^^

I know I can use beef, but water-buffalo is much nicer...-Chuckles-

Bubbly pies are just pies or tartlets/empanada-style hand pies. You can use pretty much any pie recipe for them. The one is the DLG is blahly general--I've used one (lost somewhere at home in Mom's cookbook collection) that I like much better, a blueberry pie with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg in the filling. For a more "authentic" experience you should probably use lard rather than butter for the crust. Frankly it's better for piecrust anyway, it flakes much better.
